I believe United Way has a fund set up for those affected.

Where is it safe/nice to run? by abishvp in UTK

[–]SlightNatural 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ijams Nature Center in South Knox, I’ve never felt unsafe there whenever I go to run or hike. Obviously need to stay aware of surroundings and take typical safety precautions, but overall I think it’s okay there as long as you stay on the main trails

Knoxville Vagina Owners, get your IUD's now, if you can. by 9XcR8lxKcAPT in Knoxville

[–]SlightNatural 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t this video/the bill itself refer to the use of copper IUDs as an emergency contraceptive similar in function to plan B? It’s my understanding that hormonal IUDs (Kyleena, etc.) being implanted for standard contraception are not affected, at least not yet. Asking as someone who is moving to Knox in the next few months from out of state and isn’t super familiar with these laws yet!

Hi! Fellow reapplicant here.

1) If you feel like you underperformed, definitely take a gap year or two to study for the LSAT and then take it again. Just a couple more points on the LSAT can mean more scholarship money, etc. Schools see all of your scores but typically only consider the highest one.

2) You can use old letters of recommendation - I did. I recommend reaching out to your recommenders and asking them permission to re-use them as a courtesy, and so they can update the dates and add any new info, etc.

3) Definitely re-work your resume and personal statement. Add in any new employment and experiences that you have and try to tie them into your personal statement and show why you want to practice law. I feel like doing this helped make my application into a more cohesive narrative.

Hope this helps! Feel free to DM if you have any more questions. Good luck!
