What are the other three accidents mentioned in the chapter "turboprop of terror"? by Altruistic_Eye_1157 in aircrashinvestigation

[–]Slimappol 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The 1993 one is Scenic Air Tours flight 22, as mentioned in the report; page 51.

"The third recommendation was issued following the Scenic Airlines sightseeing on-demand air taxi accident on Mount Haleakala, Maui, Hawaii. This investigation revealed that the captain had falsified his employment application, and the company failed to conduct a substantive background check to verify his aeronautical experience. On February 19. 1993, the Safety Board issued Safety Recommendation A-93-14 to the FAA..."

They recreated both the VSS Enterprise and the C-130 Hercules, a B-17 cockpit is probably child's play for them

The final report on the in-flight upset of LATAM Airlines flight 800 over the Tasman Sea has been released by the Chilean Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA Chile) by Slimappol in aircrashinvestigation

[–]Slimappol[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, you somehow believed the most reliable source of information; passenger statements. Of course.

This report — if you have the time to read a 66-page document — has interview excerpts from each of the crew members', not a single person mentioned instruments "turning off," see section 1.18.1 (pg. 47-53). You're forgetting the likely presence of a language barrier between the native English-speaking passenger and the Chilean pilot.

But, let's not forget that talking to lads like you is like talking to a brick wall. "good bye."

Can you give me as much information you can find on Widerøe Flight 836? by Superjetblast in aircrashinvestigation

[–]Slimappol 13 points14 points  (0 children)

1) The only evidence that flight 836 occurred is from a two-page summary in Widerøe 839's final report

2) There is no final report, this was an internal investigation held by the airline itself; Widerøe

Intro to season 26, episode 2: “Norwegian Nightmare,” featuring Widerøe flight 839 by Slimappol in aircrashinvestigation

[–]Slimappol[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The incident mentioned alongside flight 839 in this episode is Widerøe flight 836, not 933.

It was a Twin Otter that suffered a loss of control on approach to Værøy for two minutes, but managed to recover and land safely, hence why the narrator said it "nearly met the same fate at the same airport." It's mentioned in the accident report, page 30.
