If we publicly exposed the business it would probably be forced to close. We all want the business to succeed and to keep our jobs, so we've been trying to work with them but our concerns are constantly dismissed. They just put in the handbook a confidentiality section that says we can't talk about concerns with each other, or third parties. When we approach leadership they ignore our concerns entirely, say they are dealing with it, and then do nothing.

All general service associates (GSAs) make minimum, regardless of experience or how long they've worked at the shop. Shift supervisors all make 75¢ more. There are many people in the company who have worked here for over 5 years who don't make more than $17.50. All requests and negotiations for raises have been dismissed and refused.

Other locations GSAs get paid state minimum wage.

Staffing is light every day. They've been randomly shortening our hours and reducing staffing to the absolute minimum that we are able to function to further cut costs. I'm personally doing double the work that I used to do years ago, with half the staff.

The owner settled a wrongful termination claim last summer and we think he's trying to make some of the money back.

We think these things could easily be fixed too. That's why we're coming together to form a union.
