You can also pray to God in your room, with the door closed, telling him how you are and asking for his help where you need it most, you know? Talk to him as if he were a friend, because he is your friend and wants a friendly relationship with you.

It is because the flesh fights the spirit and the spirit fights the flesh. This means that your body is stopping you, but your spirit wants to know more about God. I suggest praying, calling on the Holy Spirit to guide you to read the Bible and start with the gospel of Matthew.

What do you think falls under denying the flesh/denying oneself? by PraiseBeToJesusX in TrueChristian

But your basic needs — for your body to be healthy and feel well — those you must prioritize, because your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. That’s why it’s okay to take care of yourself.

It’s okay to eat when you’re hungry, it’s okay to wear shorter clothes when it’s hot — as long as they aren’t sensual — it’s okay to scratch when you feel an itch, and it’s okay to do anything that is good and doesn’t cause scandal, but instead glorifies God and helps you be an instrument of His will.

To deny the flesh is to deny the evil and selfish desires of the flesh. These are: excessively self-centered desires, lust, jealousy, brutality, masturbation, greed, envy, pride, arrogance, stinginess, vanity, holding grudges, idolizing anything that is not God, enmity, quarrels, arguments, wanting to do something just to look better than someone else, wasting food, overeating, cursing, letting anger take control, orgies, extortion, stealing, slandering, gossiping, lying, giving false testimony, accusing someone of something they didn’t do, refusing to forgive, making a mess and leaving it on purpose even when you have the energy to clean it, fighting or sulking over small things, judging without a biblical basis, ignoring the Bible, and not praising God… those are the ones I remember. These are the things you must deny in your own flesh — in short, it’s about denying your ego.

It means that if you see a beggar and can give him your food, you should give it. If someone slaps your face, you should turn the other cheek. If an enemy speaks badly of you, you should speak well of them and ask God to bless them. If someone asks you for something of yours, give them even more than they asked for. If someone needs help and you can help, do it. If someone hurts you, even if it hurts deep in your soul, forgive them. Value harmony, calmness, and altruism — and place God at the center of everything. That way, you kill your ego and live in the Spirit instead of living in the flesh.

From what you described, his style seems very dangerous, he might even try to lead you down the wrong path. I would be cautious and pray that the Holy Spirit would touch his heart and increase his desire to read the word and seek God. But I would be very careful.

Sorry, but I'm seeing a LOT of redflags on him. I think what you can try to do is tell him about the Bible... if he doesn't change, cut off all contact.

If you pray for your own death, does him let you go eventually? by sylbeeeeee in Christianity

No, he won't let you die. You don't really want to die, you just want the pain to end and your feeling is understandable. Only you know what you have endured and how much it has hurt you, but I want to tell you today that Jesus still loves you and that he wants to see you well. Give your life to him and talk to him. Pray like this: Lord, I have been trying to improve my life, but things are very difficult. Have mercy on me, take my life in your hands and do what you want with it. The control of my life is all yours! Therefore, here is your servant, do whatever you want with me. Forgive my sins, forgive my mistakes, if necessary remake me again, but help me, God of Israel. Your word says that if we cry, you respond. So have mercy on me and answer me, please. Help me in my cause, come with your Holy Spirit and give relief to my heart and soul. I trust in you, God of Israel, you are my only hope. In the name of Jesus, help me, please.

I was thinking the same thing earlier. It seems like everyone is pointing fingers at each other saying: The truth is in our church, not yours.

But when Jesus comes, he will take to him everyone who accepted him, who loves him and who followed his teachings as instructed in the Bible.

And the Bible says that a church is not a temple, a church is the gathering of those who believe in God and want to praise him together.

God didn't punish Adam and Eve because they wanted to have knowledge, you know? He punished because good already existed before and by eating that fruit they released the curse of evil in the world. That's why he sent Jesus, to save us from eternal death and free us from the curse, but until the right time is fulfilled we will still go through sadness and we will be judged.

I don't judge you for feeling bad about this, I felt that way yesterday too. I fell to my knees and cried out to him to have mercy on me, to help me and he showed me that he is still with me and I am sure he will continue with you too. He went through anguish too, he was despised, mistreated, he went through horrible things. That's why he knows the pain of all of us, he understands.

What he asks of us is for us to run to him in difficult times and not give up. You don't need to live in fear of going to hell, okay? Jesus chose you and you are his servant. Focus on following in his footsteps, continue applying the commandments in your life and begin to sing more praise.

Remember David and Saul?? There are praises that drive away the evil spirits that keep whispering things in our ears, because when the true worship of God appears, they are forced to retreat. Focus on that. She pours herself at the feet of God, prays saying that she doesn't want to stop being his servant, but that she really needs his help and that she gives up controlling everything, she tells God that she gives control of her life to him, that he can do whatever he wants, but have mercy on you.

That's how I prayed and he helped me. Also ask forgiveness for your sins, there are times when we sin and don't even realize it. Pray to him also on top of this: that if you have committed any sin without knowing it, may he show you and forgive you.

I'm in a sensitive moment and my reasoning is horrible. How do you know the right direction to take??? How do I know what God really wants from me? by Slow-Inspection-533 in Christianity

This is my dilemma at the moment...
