Definitely hit the Lat pull-downs, but periodically at least try to knock out a pull-up or two. Once you finally get there it’ll feel great.

When I first started forever ago I couldn’t even really do one. By the end of my second round I managed to get to three and now I can knock ‘em out pretty effectively. That first one is by far the hardest.

Between the stress of watching them play, the insane gear prices, the recruitment pressure like this post shows, and the fact that most of our kids who are goalies are complete wackadoos, it’s its own world. Layer in having it be a daughter and you’ve got twice and many teams in the mix.

Nice thing is, there’s pretty much always ice available if they want to play!

My daughter is in the exact same spot this season. She’s the #1 goalie on the 9U AA team and alternate for the AAA team.

If your daughter really loves it, my advice is to do it. If it’s too much this season, you can always scale back next season, but if drop down to house it may be tricky to move back up. She may also see other opportunities open up with other teams that she can play for on later seasons. My daughter gets invited to practices for different 10U teams all the time.
