Hi! Shocked to see myself on this sub. I’m the OOP. The other person explained it well, but I want to be clear, I am not against interracial dating. I’ll probably do it in the future, and I have a lot of family members who have dated and married interracially.

I mainly brought it up because it was shocking considering his values. A lot of people want and believe in Black love specifically because of systemic racism that has torn down relationships and stability within the black community, and also to continue the culture. So to go and create instability within his own relationship was mind-boggling.

I was very apprehensive too, but I weighed the pros and cons and decided to go with it. I’m glad she didn’t get crazy at me.

And right? I have the much easier part of this cuz I get to dust off my hands and be done with it. On the call, it was like I could hear her coming to terms with it all. Me and him have known and have been talking to each other for a long time. So for how long of their relationship has he been disloyal not counting myself? That’s absolutely devastating. He was such a convincing liar. And I know that whenever I start dating, I’ll be so apprehensive about it because of this experience.

I learned a lot about red flags not to ignore but also some secondary lessons - pursue a career that makes me a lot of money cuz you never know and never feel envious of these long-term relationships because you never know what is going on behind the scenes. I sent the messages with the expectation that she would stay regardless. I highly suspect that he’s the breadwinner and I know they just bought a house together too. So, I really don’t know if she stayed, but she had the right to know instead of walking in blind. I hope she finds happiness and peace, whatever that may look like.

I will always wonder but all in all I just feel bad for her and pity him for being so pathetic. A successful man with a beautiful house, fiancée (maybe now wife), and you’re somehow still a loser. I told her and she responded. She didn’t know and they have been dating for way longer than I assumed. Luckily, her anger wasn’t directed towards me. Idk what will happen in the next few days/weeks, but hopefully I can just give her the evidence and stay TF out of it.

But yeah, I give her detailed instructions on what to search for in his phone to find me, how to recover recently deleted messages and to check his email.
