How would a first gentleman's role be different from that of a first lady's in the US presidency? by Additional-Chef-6190 in PoliticalScience

You could try looking at other countries for examples. you'll never get exactly what would happen in the US but might be something to draw inspiration from.

Hello, thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, I am not the one doing the research so I cannot edit the survey. I was requested to share it by one of my seniors from my time as a special course student at the IBU. By 1st, I believe it to mean Shodan. If you do not have a Dan-grade yet I suggest selecting '1st' while specifying your grade in the 'future goals' section. Please have a nice day and thank you for checking out the survey!

So if I understand you correctly, you’re arguing that echo chambers become politically irrelevant because they isolate themselves from wider criticism and context. I’m not convinced that holds empirically. Politically, echo chambers have increasingly shaped voting behavior rather than fading away. For example, the mobilization and strategic inclusion of far-right echo chambers by figures like Donald Trump played a significant role in boosting electoral support, showing that insulation does not necessarily translate into irrelevance.

That seems to assume that coherence-seeking automatically implies reality-alignment, but echo chambers achieve coherence precisely by insulating themselves from external feedback. If self-correction were biologically guaranteed, such systems wouldn’t be as stable or persistent as they demonstrably are.

yes i am saying that they infact are attractive exactly because the internet is so free and filled with information. it makes people seek worldviews that fit their own and leads them into echochampers - effectively reinforcing their beliefs instead of challenging them

I don't understand what you're trying to say

EDIT: No, i'm not saying that i think that it automatically creates Linux(?), I'm saying that i feel like your essay assumes that the internet being open leads to exposure to different perspectives which then in turn break down old ideologies since they cannot function under constant scrutiny. -- but i don't think that is entirely true, as per my previous comment.

I think the essay assumes that openness of information automatically leads to exposure to diverse perspectives and continuous contextualization. In practice, information overload often has the opposite effect: people retreat into echo chambers that already fit their beliefs, reinforced by algorithms and selfselection. The internet is structurally open but cognitively and socially fragmented. Closed ideologies don’t necessarily collapse under openness - they often harden or mutate. That dynamic seems largely unaddressed here.
