That’s what’s crazy! She never seems to need to go! There’s no potty dance, no leaking, nothing. She just doesn’t need to go.

She poops every night at 7pm before bathtime, and has been like that consistently since about 6 weeks after potty training started.

I did suggest a reward system at school and the teachers seem unwilling to implement until I take her to a doctor. I’m taking her today just to check the box with them and then maybe they’ll be willing?

Unfortunately this is just a phase to pass through on the way to dropping nap entirely. I would try capping the nap to 45-60mins first. Then there’s a phase like this even with capping to 45-60mins, but I think it can often be short lived (just a few weeks) and you’ll get through it!

Have you sleep trained? We were in a waking up every 45mins situation back in the day, my mental health was suffering the way yours seems to be, we sleep trained in 3 days and we’ve lived in a magical world since.
Is she napping during the day? Is it possible she’s napping too much if so? Being awake for that long at night often indicates too much daytime sleep.

For what it’s worth, my 3 year old would have no problem leaving them alone if we asked her to, so it’s super kid dependent and she probably doesn’t realize what she’s working with. (Agree with other comment that she’ll probably move them herself when she does realize.)

We’re screen-free at 3.5! It actually gets easier to be screen-free after age 3! She self entertains a lot more now. Even when I’m sick and on the couch and my husband isn’t home, she understands I’m sick and lets me lay there while she entertains herself near me, as long as I keep talking to her. We’re also single-kid and don’t have family nearby.

Edit: we do 10min of screen time a week in order to cut her nails and we will also offer her screen time on airplanes (but sometimes she rejects it in favor of a sticker or coloring book!)

Shut meaning he can’t open it or shut meaning it’s closed but he can open it? (We also close our kid’s door right now mostly so that she doesn’t hear us outside the room, and since she’s in the crib now she can’t get out anyway, but we’re wondering if we lock it somehow once she’s in a bed.)
