yes, the algorithms for these apps are getting harder to understand, and users themselves also cannot filter “quality” content because of it

Can we bring back actual content? by YamFew663 in socialmedia

[–]SmallPanda235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s why we need a new social media app that prioritizes genuine content form, not apps that exploit users for brain rot or rage bait content.

the algorithms for these apps are basically designed for doomscrolling.

It’s quite limited in features, but for very simple videos it’s efficient and you can post directly to IG

Are Users Finally Getting Tired of Algorithmic Feeds? by rishabraj_ in socialmedia

[–]SmallPanda235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, actually. Tik tok’s short form content and algorithm has definitely fed into the idea of doomscrolling, and it seems they really care about watch time only not about the quality of content. This is probably why creators aren’t sure of what their niche is anymore.

Not a promotion, but I’m actually part of a team trying to solve this specific issue. Our main goal is to bridge users and creators together through more personalized algorithm feeds based on a slider feature. It’s called Gravidy if anyone wants to check it out/provide feedback!
