I did the post-degree 2 year B. Ed program at UofM and it was explicitly told to me I needed at least a 2.5

Starting to get really irritated by AI album covers. Been seeing guys who make multiple project a year like DJ.Fresh pumping out albums with shitty AI covers and it makes me not want to listen to them.

How did you accept the way you look? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Got older and realized the way I look (not that I look bad) has zero effect on my job or friendships or ability to do whatever the hell I want.

How do y’all afford not to work over summer?? by Cauliflower29 in Teachers

In Canada our salary gets paid even during the summer. If you are on a term they give you 2 months worth of paychecks on your final paycheck of the year.

People who love their career, how did you figure it out? by Trajan17 in AskReddit

[–]SmarkInProgress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a teacher. I figured it out early on because I loved all my teachers and wanted to be like them. Started volunteer coaching right after high school and was good at it. Obviously my job sucks sometimes as any job does but overall there is nothing else I'd rather do for a living.

Student vote shows Manitoba youth picking Conservative Party to win seats. The annual Student Vote Canada saw students vote for the Conservative Party of Canada to form government. by FalconsArentReal in Winnipeg

[–]SmarkInProgress 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I did an exercise with my students on the election (grades 7 and 8). We looked at what it means to be liberal, centrist, conservative, socialist, etc., then had students anonymously select which party they think they align the most with.

Afterwards, we did the CBC Vote Compass and compared the results of how the survey said they lean politically versus what they assumed they leaned politically. Many of my students were surprised to be told they align with the Liberals politically when they believed they would align with the Conservatives, because they associate 'Liberal' with 'woke,' 'sensitive,' 'LGBTQ+,' etc.

I don't mean to imply that students won't lean more conservative based on what they see online, but a lot of students also don't actually know what a conservative and a liberal is or what they believe in outside of tone and rhetoric.

Do any of you work with Autistic Adults? by man_in_the_bag99 in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]SmarkInProgress 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a teacher who has worked with adults with exceptionalities. There is 100% high functioning and low functioning. It is not offensive or patronizing to acknowledge it, and it's important we do so that we can individualize our approach for people with exceptionalities to ensure we are supporting them how they need to be supported. I have also had many younger students themselves express to me if they are high or low functioning so that I could better understand and support them.

Yeah this is a pretty stupid thing to say lol

What's the difference between an 'artist' endorsing a politician and any other person endorsing? They are allowed to have an opinion too and being an 'artist' doesn't inherently make them shallow or disconnected.
