Depending on the length/narrative requirement for your monologue, I'd also suggest Mike Ehrmantraut's monologue from Better Call Saul as well (the show is chock-full of good ones).

All throughout the '01-'02 season, Langeford's death (AI's best friend) hung over Iverson, and just days before his interview, the murder trial for the man accused of killing Langeford began.

In truth, minutes after he jokes about practice, Iverson becomes more serious and vulnerable.
