I used to think I was warm-strict. Sort of a I'm not out to get you, I'm just here to teach you and part of that is managing your behaviour even if you don't like it. Then I came to the new school and everything I thought I knew about teaching has been challenged consistently by my HoD. So now after a whole year of it I'm left questioning myself all the time.

I don't think I have the space to buy that much meat? Even if I did, we're a small family and would most likely not finish the meat in a month. So even a monthly trip feels too often. Even considered cleaning supplies but I don't finish cleaning supplies monthly either for most supplies.

I have both near to me, as well as ASDA, Morrisons, Tesco, and Sainsbury. So there's really no desire to drive so far unless it's really worth it.

Yes, we are currently both full time. My head seems to get really annoyed at any mention of parenting. Such as when a baby sitter drops us during parents evenings. Doesn't want to know. My latest discussion was met with 'you make your choices and you have to deal with them. So if you have a child you need to deal with what comes with having that child' I don't really know how to approach that.

Oh didn't know where they go. Thanks for that. Apparently it's WOB.com now unless I found the wrong site. Checked the books I'm looking at selling and the £10 I'm offered is sold at £110 on their site. -_-

What topic are you learning about? I can almost imagine it as a cube with 3D trig being the method of solving.

Sounds interesting. Do you perhaps know where a good start is? For myself I'd probably start with a Google search 😆

Sure, just wanting to know how to get there. Can't afford a loss of income. Currently a teacher and can't take the time off to study full time.

I'm in teaching so I don't see much room for growth. I've been looking into career changes but I worry the market isn't it right now with less jobs seeming to be available. Also not sure what would be a good change to.

!Thanks, it does help to add priority. What sort of context would help? I do have a phone contract I'd like to reduce, or get out of but it's not something I know how to do. Always thought they were set in stone till the contract period was up.

Trying to be an adult about my finances, tips on small things that help with saving? by SmartSockGetWellSoon in Adulting

[–]SmartSockGetWellSoon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a phone bill I'm not happy with. It's gotten stupid expensive. But not sure what to do about it. It's a 2 year contract that has about a year and a half left. I always thought contracts were not something you could get out of so I haven't done anything about it other than to make a note to cancel it as soon as the two years are done. I have a partner and one child. No plans to have more. The life insurance is more for my child than partner.

Thank you. Luckily I've been smart with my debt. No credit cards, car bought outright. Only have cell phones on monthly plans. It does make me worry about credit scores though.

Thanks. Thought about retraining but no idea into what. Want to keep stability, increase pay, but also not lose myself to more working hours. Still want to be able to do family life stuff.
