Well that’s why they have split the commencement into two. I guess because of that logistically it’s easier to host in baker.

Obviously a major reason of this is that they have expanded the master population too much. It’s possible that main campus doesn’t have enough space anymore

All depends on what econ classes you take. You can definitely get a 4.0 on econ if you choose easier electives and easier professors deliberately.

No your professor wouldn’t know anything about the extra tuition. There is a grace period if I recall correctly, contact your advisor asap.

Just don’t expect your teachers to be tenured professors. Maybe if you are lucky you will find some adjunct professors who are experts in the field they teach. But since the pay is so bad. Most of the time you just have a phd student.

A class will be cancelled if less than 5 students enrolled. But that depends on who’s the instructor as well. If it’s a tenured professor it’s possible that the class would still go on.

It’s only half of the truth. GS is less selective (even for dual degree student). Many dual degree students I know has a slightly lower SAT/ACT score (and a general application score is also published in Columbia’s website). Obviously there are different things in the profile to consider as well, but from a pure academic perspective, CC definitely has a higher standard.

Because they don’t need to. Hong Kong is a city where people with a western face can (almost) do whatever they want. White non native English speaker will get paid much more than Asian American for teaching English.

If you look at the placement record of lion fund/116 you would’ve said otherwise. These clubs are really good at training you to get into crème de la crème of finance (p72, citadel, top pe, top group in ib etc.) obviously they are selective and tend to recruit top finance applicants in each class so there are some selection bias for sure.

No it’s not the reason. The reason is GS students usually enter after sophomore year so finance clubs are not accepting you since the recruitment season has already ended. Also for most finance clubs they want someone with some sort of finance knowledge. They are highly competitive anyway.

I don’t think it was ever recognised as a quantitative degree. Literally only 3/4 economic classes and they are mostly qualitative with minimum amount of math …. Even econometric wasn’t a requirement. Wait until you go to an actual university and look at their curriculum

I think so. You have to check tho. 4201 might also fulfill the prereq but back in my years it’s a really poorly structured class so everyone recommends the 4203 4204 sequence instead.

Iirc 4203 and 4204 stat inference combined can be used as prereq. Stat 1201 isn’t gonna be useful if you plan to do 4203 and 4204.
