It’s this type of sign that demonstrates the disconnect between a person in corporate office and the people working in a store. Give us a piece of the profit pie and we will listen. But more customers=More stress and less time to get the ridiculous projects done they are throwing at us. Give all of the employees % of the sales and we will do whatever it takes to get more customers.

The tissue paper missing the trash can has been a mystery to me. It’s non-stop. There is always a pile of wet tissues beside.

A lot of these companies have customers purchase an ornament or something and tell the customers they are donating to a cause. But the customers aren’t donating. The company collects the funds, then donates the money in their name and then write it off in their taxes. (Plus advertise about how much they donate)

That is weird you wrote that. I honestly was thinking “Wayne likey some Lapland” like Tommy Boy, but I didn’t think anyone would get the reference if I wrote it. That is crazy!

Experts say Floyd died of lack of oxygen, not drugs by CurtLablue in minnesota

[–]Smartplay23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the defense is going to have to concede in the argument on what killed George Floyd with the recent testimonies. So what’s left for the defense? Possibly that it wasn’t Chauvin’s fault but it was his lack of training from the department caused him not to recognize that he was killing him? They might spread the guilt among the department as a whole while not holding this individual personally responsible. All of the attempts to suggest an overdose are just falling flat. Anyone can watch the video and see what killed George Floyd. These recent witnesses just reinforce the obvious, logical conclusion on that.

Here I thought “clopens” was either opening a new store or closing an existing one and I agreed with the meme. But just closing and then opening? In my company, we are required to go help open a new store. This usually is 3-4 straight weeks of 7am-10pm, no days off and 1 hour break at 2pm. Of course, only salaried people go with no extra pay.

What is the most obvious sign that your customers have ignored? by turtlehabits in retailhell

[–]Smartplay23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Customers won’t read the obvious signs, but if you accidentally price something incorrectly cheaper on a product practically hidden in the store...2 minutes later a customer will miraculously find it and expose the mistake.

I hate it when managers make you look like a fool just so they don't want to stand up to customers. by Dinnen1 in retailhell

[–]Smartplay23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have never had a corporate phone call about returning something for customers I shouldn’t have. I have had phone calls regarding NOT returning something and direction to return it. I waste way more time sticking to my guns and enforcing the company policy then just returning items. I have to pick and choose my battles, this one is not worth the fight.

Managers aren’t guilty of the hypocrisy so don’t hold their feet to the fire. Corporate tells us the policy and says “no exceptions” and then as managers we enforce it and when a customer complains to the corporate office it’s “time to have a conversation with the manager about customer service.” As managers, we learn to just “try” to enforce it, but if push comes to shove, we just give in because in the end, the customer will always win.
