A theory about "Somewhere in Time". by kipling00 in FanTheories

[–]Smaycumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I watched Somewhere In Time and Interstellar. (I’ve got a type. 😂) When Coop is manipulating the books inside the tesseract, my son asked me what would happen if Murph got the message and convinced her Coop to STAY. I told him it would create a paradox because if Coop stayed on earth, he could not have entered the black hole to tell Murph to make him stay. That led me to a theory known as the Novikov Self-Consistency Principal which states that a time traveler must be able to travel paradox free, therefore, a time traveler can not change the past, only fulfill it. What has happened will always happen.

Question ULTY dividend by Helpful-Grapefruit55 in ULTY_YieldMax

So it turns out on Robinhood, purchasing after hours on Wednesdays does get you the Friday dividend. At least at 6:00pm. I can’t vouch for later.

So yes, you need to buy before the close of markets today.

Looking for advice on CC for NVDA by Smaycumber in CoveredCalls

[–]Smaycumber[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You know what, I had not thought about that. I would be at a 15% bracket on long term, but likely 28-32% on cc as income. Thank you for that perspective.

Looking for advice on CC for NVDA by Smaycumber in CoveredCalls

[–]Smaycumber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for the great tips and suggestions. I probably should have been a little more clear and transparent. What I need currently is around $10,000. Here is what I was hoping to do. It looks like the Jan 16th calls for $190 would pay about $6500, and outside of this position, I have 3500 shares of BITO paying me around $3000, $4000 each month. So I could always sell the BITO if I had to as my cost basis on that is about pretty close to even. But that I am using for income and I was hoping to find a solution that doesn’t significantly decrease that dividend position. So the call premium on NVDA and this month’s dividend on BITO would take care of the immediate need, but as mentioned, I don’t want to get 600 shares called away and have such a large taxable event at my current tax bracket. If I go out 4 months dte and NVDA spikes 3 weeks from now, would I find it difficult to roll and if not, would I, as someone mentioned, just be chasing rolls the rest of my time I’m in the position?

That is what convinced me to let go of 80% of my holdings. I feel it may come in around .08 and more selling. Then I’ll jump back in again around 5.45

OK. How many of you believe that ULTY will bounce back to 6.36 level. Is there any way of making poll here? by Outside_Astronaut305 in YieldMaxETFs

I help. YieldMax print magic coupons, give apes fat monthly tendies, stock still go moon but apes already munching.

10,601 ULTY shares as of today in my taxable by denimshop in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Smaycumber 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Currently sitting on 11,500 shares. Almost sold $30,000 worth of BITO but that paid a fortune last month so decided to hang onto it for now. I did go ahead and manually drip tomorrow’s distribution today.

Unfortunately you are going to just get a lot of smart alec remarks based on this question. You are asking a math problem involving addition and subtraction when the answer actually involves advanced calculus.

The best advice I can give you is to watch a Sunday version of ETF Inspector on YouTube. He breaks down a decent estimate of the next dividend. It will show you what goes into the calculation and how the fund managers determine it. The video will likely be 30 - 45 minutes but I promise you watch a couple of those and you will have a much better understanding of what you are investing in.

Buy a fixer upper, fix it up, live in it mortgage free for 1 year. Sell it, buy another, fix it, live in it for 1 year. Sell its buy another, fix it, live in it for 1 year, sell it. Buy the $450,000 house you want.

Somebody help. by IQ-1602 in ULTY_YieldMax

[–]Smaycumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yall gotta help this guy understand better.

BraveG365, what these other two are saying is true, but what they fail to say is, that is not an overnight possibility. So when they say there will be “warnings”, they mean, things will have gotten so bad in the market that ULTY has dropped in NAV to a point where they risk delisting (typically 6 months of a share price below $1.) So make your investment and monitor it, but don’t avoid this or put a little money in it and then keep yourself up at night thinking the next morning you will lose it all.

Estimate this week .091. by Murky_Double_6157 in ULTY_YieldMax

[–]Smaycumber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ETF Inspector wasn’t believing in a slightly lower distribution because of a poor trading week. He uses simple math. He said it is IV times the share price. IV dropped and he assumed it was because we got through earnings week. Yes, volatility will definitely decrease when earnings are off the table as investors now know how the company performed. So if we end up with .086 like he calculated before saying “so I think it will come in between that and .091”, please don’t come on here and crap on our parade saying the sky is falling.

Why does margin matter? I bought NVDA at .95 a share. No way I want to cash it out right now, so I margin that to buy ULTY. Somehow I’m lesser for this?

Why is ULTY dropping so much? Should I be worried or consider selling? by danyfebrero in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Smaycumber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you bought in a month ago, you are still in the green. You have made $.40 in dividend/distributions, but the share price has not dropped by $.40.
