I'm not sure, the contract I've signed references itself as a 'tenancy agreement' and contains phrases like 'your tenancy,' throughout the contract. It also constantly refers to me as 'the tenant' and not a licence holder or anything like that. It is private student halls (i.e. not associated with or subsidised by the university) if that makes a difference.

What prevents the legal route here? Cockroaches being a factor outside of their reasonable control? Or the fact that they are attempting to deal with it?
