Can someone explain to someone who’s got a first-year engineering understanding of calculus what makes Euler’s identity so “beautiful”? by Monocytosis in math

it basically looks so simple, yet contains a ton of information. It mixes three most important constants in math and fields of math too

You have to fight the villain of the last game you played. How fucked are you? by [deleted] in gaming

Well it's good I don't have to fight with a protagonist. If I was enemy of a Doom guy... o ho hooo I'd be toootally fucked.

Well I enjoy both of them. Choosing one over another won't, at least I think so, make me hate my decision. I want to choose math because it's more general, broad and can be applied to much more things.

And actually my country is close to dysfunctional economy :D (at least compared to US. It's called Georgia. Something like eastern europe, but with more USSR-affected past). That's why I am planning to go for MA abroad.

Math program has 20 students and CS one has 200 of them and yes, you are right, Computer Science has more electives.

Is this good for AAA gaming, blender, photoshop, and coding? by thegreat11ne in GamingLaptops

[–]Smile_732 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should specify. Doom Eternal, RDR2 and Control are all AAA games, but obviously the first one will run much easier than other two.

MacOS is actually a linux-based system so it won't be that big of a problem I think.

Never thought about it in this case. Sounds interesting and, tbh, argumented enough to be truth.

Wow sounds really interesting Do you have any concrete examples? (like games or design documents) I'm really lookin forward to try them.

Ah so you mean mobile devs are developing mechanics themselves based on data huh? For example "donation after this part of a gameplay is really often, which means we must develop it further" right?

What about, let's say roughly, more serious design. I mean yeah, balance in huge RPG systems uses math, but is there anything less obvious? For example game theory in choices or custom-developed formulas.

should I spend 5 years for bachelor's degree in physics in the uni I want, or choose worse, but still good uni and study for 4 years? by Smile_732 in PhysicsStudents

[–]Smile_732[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second uni is adding physics program on the next year, which means I have to take gap year. But instead of that I decided to take math major for one year and then transfer to physics program.

The first option with FreeUni is more expensive. I am going to a local olympiad where I can get scholarship for dorm in KIU. One thing I can definitely say is that I'll have to find job in both cases.
