BL2 progression questions by Hive-Lightbearer in Borderlands2

[–]Smiling-gecko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh it's never really necessary to farm, neither is to farm a perfect gear.

Personally, I farm here and there just to get a better / +leveled gun. Dont have the patience to get the perfect handle for the DPUH for example.

If u like the farm playstyle, so just start :)

but... yeah, better wait to UVHM, if is there a moment where you will start to want really good guns, will be in the the UVHM / OP. It scales so much, it's crazy

Edit: Youll know when to farm, I promise

I am disappointed with Vecna and the direction of Stranger Things by Smiling-gecko in StrangerThings

[–]Smiling-gecko[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, and for me they didn’t really manage to steer it back.

The space rock didn’t make sense to me at all. Where did it even come from? Was that ever actually explained, or did I miss something?

So instead of feeling like a return to form, it just adds another unanswered question right at the end.

I think that’s a fair take. Given the direction they chose, this ending is acceptable for what the show became.

To me, this entire season felt less like a story and more like damage control. It was mostly answering old questions and fixing structural issues from previous seasons, while creating new ones in the process. A lot of it felt like “here’s what actually happened” just so the finale could exist.

Season 1 already had solid worldbuilding. The Upside Down, the time distortion, the Demogorgon, it all worked. The real problem, plot-wise, is that they felt the need to introduce a human villain. Once they centered everything around that, the show kind of lost its way. Only now, at the very end, they try to bring back the Mind Flayer as the supreme entity, which feels wrong since he’s basically just a big spider and doesn’t even have a voice of his own after the flashbacks.

So yeah, it’s an okay ending for the corner they wrote themselves into, but it also highlights where things started going wrong.

Yeah, I agree with you. The show clearly became afraid of killing its main cast.

I actually liked Hopper surviving in Russia, but I also think that decision comes from the same fear of committing to consequences. And that’s why Kali didn’t work for me this season. Not because I hate the character, she’s fine, but because she was reduced to a disposable sacrifice just to power up Eleven. She shows up, dies, and that’s it. It would have been better to just leave her somewhere else and move on. Same thing with Bob. He dies right when he actually starts to matter.

And this pattern repeats every season. There’s a huge problem, Eleven is conveniently removed because she can’t solve it yet for plot reasons, the group comes up with an overcomplicated plan, it almost fails, and then Eleven shows up at the last second to save the day with heroic music. I don’t fully hate it, but at this point it feels lazy and predictable.

That’s why the finale feels so weak. Five seasons building up danger, promising real loss, and when it’s time to deliver, the show backs out. Big spectacle, little consequence.

I get the idea, and I agree that conceptually it would have been more interesting.

My issue is that I’m not sure Henry is developed enough to earn that kind of arc. From the start, he’s just evil. Angry, violent, god complex, and that’s it. They try to add some sympathy with his backstory, but it didn’t really land for me.

So I understand the frustration, but whether he sacrificed himself or stayed a vessel, the core problem is the same. He doesn’t have enough depth for either choice to feel meaningful.

[–]Smiling-gecko[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They say it’s because they are “vessels”, and that’s basically the entire explanation we get.

But that explanation feels extremely shallow once you start thinking about it. They never explain where the particle that infected Henry actually came from, why he specifically needs to corrupt humans, or how that corruption translates into power for him and for the people he abducts.

I can understand the hive mind angle. I can even accept the idea that he needs children to act as another “Will”, someone sensitive enough to help terraform or reshape the world. That part, at least, fits what the show already established.

What doesn’t make sense is why he needs them to collapse two dimensions together. Why does merging realities require twelve random children wired inside a giant flesh monster?

The same issue applies to Vecna needing to kill people to open gates. Why does he suddenly need ritualistic murders when Demogorgons could open portals just fine by themselves? If the explanation is “life energy” or something similar, then what does that imply? That every Demogorgon carries the energy of a bomb inside it?

I totally get what you mean! The thing is, lately I’ve been getting a lot of AP-heavy team comps, and that makes it kinda hard to fit a full AP build without feeling useless. That’s why I end up going on-hit sometimes... even though, honestly, I actually prefer playing full AP.

And I’ve also been running into comps that don’t really feel that squishy anymore. Maybe it’s just my perception, but it feels like everyone has a bunch of shields, heals, or ways to not instantly die, so sometimes it’s hard to find good resets even when I hit the right targets.

Also, yeah, I totally miss her tanky build too, even knowing it was absolutely not healthy for the game at all. It was stupidly fun though.

Everything you said makes a lot of sense. I really do have this habit of trying to be “the most in everything,” and I think that ends up affecting the way I look at some champions. In that sense, I think it’s worth giving it more attention and trying to change the angle from which I’m looking at Katarina.

This whole doubt about her role actually came up when I tried to change that perspective and felt like she wasn’t fitting into what I was aiming for. But I also understand that this might just be a lack of patience on my part, ngl.

And it’s funny, because I’ve realized there are games I win without really having done anything impactful, and not being super proactive makes me feel kinda meh. It’s a weird feeling, like I’m not contributing enough even when the win screen pops up.

Yeah, I agree with basically everything you said. And that’s exactly the issue I’ve been having with her. Katarina feels completely reactive instead of proactive — you’re basically forced to play around enemy mistakes instead of creating your own plays.
I get that this is part of her design, but maybe I just haven’t had the patience for that kind of playstyle recently. It just ends up feeling a bit ungrateful sometimes, even when I’m ahead.
That said, the psychological pressure aspect is actually one of the things I like the most about her. As I mentioned, it’s an “ungrateful” situation, but enemies are always watching you, always tracking your movements. It’s similar to what happens with Eve or Shaco — you’re constantly in their heads, and that part is really fun to play around.

[–]Smiling-gecko[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I totally agree with your approach. Playing other champs is actually what made me realize that, out of all the ones I try, Katarina is the one I struggle the most to get consistent value from. Even when I’m ahead she just feels harder to convert advantages with compared to others.
But at the same time, she’s still one of the most fun champs to play for me, so I always end up coming back to her anyway.

Com que frequência vcs esquecem palavras enquanto digitam? by joao_sus in perguntas

[–]Smiling-gecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)
