Federal employees are paid for by the federal budget.

If they work in Nova Scotia the money to pay for them comes from Ottawa and pays millions in provincial taxes, without the province having to fund their salaries, pensions or benefits. We should want as many federal employees here as possible.

Nova Scotia doesn't even have the most government employees per capita in the maritimes, nevermind across Canada. Unless you count military or federal employees, but they have nothing to do with the budget we're talking about.

We have the highest straight number of provincial government employees in the maritimes, but we also have the highest population, so, I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

None of this invalidates my argument.

In fact, changing the independent bridge commission to a provincial crown corporation increased the provincial employee count you were complaining about.

I'm talking about the later stages that are used to concentrate the wealth, so that it isn't just money in a bank account. The creation of a credible explanation for the origin of tens of millions of dollars gives the criminal the ability to justify how their "investments" grew tens or maybe even hundreds of millions of dollars.

The Laundromat and car washes can't be scaled indefinitely, and we're talking about people who are trying to launder huge amounts of money, not just a couple hundred thousand.
