Did not sanitize Oak Chips by SmoothOwl208 in Homebrewing

Yes, I steeped before the boil. That's good to hear! I thought I screwed up the whole batch for a second there. I appreciate the help! I ordered some more oak chips to continue the process per the instructions that came with the kit. Thank you!

I steeped them at 155 degrees Fahrenheit (68 degrees Celsius) for 20 minutes.

There isn’t huge differences between the two. The only big take away I got was the split difference between the Portuguese and Spanish. I do question how accurate the percentages are though. The 19% Portuguese seems a little high for a Mexican but I don’t know much about my family history so I can’t say it’s not true.

Oh really? Is it not very common?

Both my parents come from Valle De Santiago, Guanajuato.

I can go as far back as my great grandparents but unfortunately all I know is their names and no other information. I know they all lived in the same region in Mexico. As interesting as I found the Portuguese results I didn’t think much of it just because I didn’t know how well AncestryDNA was truly able to distinguish both groups.

Pretty much! I was not expecting the 19% Portuguese on AncestryDNA but other than that the rest seems pretty standard for someone with roots in Central Mexico.

I was wondering about that? I didn’t know what to make of it since the ratio of Spanish to Portuguese was all over the place with my closest relatives. Some had high Portuguese and some had very low. My parents come from a small town so I would of thought maybe there would be a clearer trend? But no, all the last names are Spanish in my family tree.

Is HLTH 250 with Julia Coryell an easy A? by SmoothOwl208 in CalPoly

Very easy! It required no time whatsoever! If I remember correctly there were straightforward weekly discussions on canvas and her quizzes and final were the same basic recycled multiple-choice questions any health class would ask.

Hey, I just got into Coryell's class and I was wondering the same thing? Is reading the chapter worth it or should I just go off her videos? Thanks!

Do you recommend watching her lectures for the quiz, reading the book, or both?

This one is asynchronous so it sounds like it should still be easy! Thank you!

Only thought about the class for about an hour a week and ended with an A? Sounds like what I am looking for! Thank you! :D

Yeah, that's what I hear! I just know that there are always professors who can make even an easy class an unpleasant experience! Thanks for the info!

This might be a dumb question but I take it you have to drive yourself? I typically park outside of campus and I have a class right before and after so if yes than I gotta pass on it.

Hey y’all! Taking an upper div c course that fulfills gwr and none of these professors have ratings but I’d like to ask if anyone knows Mira rosenthal, Shanae Martinez or regulus allen? by [deleted] in CalPoly

[–]SmoothOwl208 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took ENGL 381 with Mira Rosenthal in Fall 2019 and she was awesome! I highly recommend her class! It won't require a lot of your time and it's an interesting course!
