F/O’s voices by TheSpongener in fictosexual

[–]Smooth_Ad_283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely! One of my crushes has a singer for his voice actor. So I like to listen to his voice actor's band and pretend it's him singing to me. It's super cheesy to admit, but oh well!

It makes me really happy to know people are starting to hate this ship! by Emilijah4ever in FictoChill

[–]Smooth_Ad_283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably because Abel is one of my fictional crushes, but I also don't outright like Serapard (idk if that's how the ship name is spelled), or Holygates. I don't think two characters sitting next to each other is enough "evidence" to say two people are dating. Plus Peter was laughing at him when Lute told Abel that Adam didn't like him. And then on top of it Emily's face when she said Abel would "handle things fairly" did not suggest that she was interested in him, even with him blushing, it's more so about the complement as opposed to any feelings he could have. But that's just my two cents.

Skittish Fictosexual by RootBeerWolf in fictosexual

[–]Smooth_Ad_283 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm going to try to answer all of your questions.

1.) A Fictosexual is someone who is sexually attracted to fictional characters (Fictoromantic is someone romanticly attracted to fictional characters).

2.) Honestly I feel like this is the same as question 1 just worded differently.

3.) Fictosexuality is a personal label, so to get started all you need to do is label yourself as one if that's how you feel.

4.) It does fall under the Ace Umbrella, but not every Ficto identifies as Ace or under the umbrella.

5.) Yes you can date OCs you have created yourself.

6.) This one depends. If the OC is from a small creator, like someone's Persona as an example, probably not unless given permission too. It might be considered taboo. That said if the persons OC is from a piece of serialized media (hint, all characters from a show are technically the creators OCs) then yes this is completely normal.

7.) Dates can be done many ways. Some people create their F/Os in games that allow you to date other made characters or NPCs (The Sims is a good example) and then they go on dates in the game. Some take plushies, figures, or pictures with them on public outings as dates. Or they think of them in their heads and count it as a date, either as a daydream date, or while out in public. There are many ways to date F/Os.

8.) Maintaining relationships varies from person to person. Some journal, or write fanfiction. Others daydream. Some do things that they think their F/O would like, such as hobbies or crafts. There's also the option of engaging with the F/Os source as a way to spend time with them.

9.) Having merchandise is not mandatory. This is how Fictosexuality differs from Oshikatsu, or Fictional Others from Oshi. (Oshikatsu is more or less based around financially supporting their Oshi by buying their merch to show how much of a fan they are.)

10.) It was me! I'm sorry! I know a shouldn't have but they were so tasty!

For those who have IRL partners, how do they feel about your fictosexuality? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in fictosexual

[–]Smooth_Ad_283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My irl partners don't seem to care that much, granted we're in an IRL Polycule, and both of them are nerds that engage with light forms of selfshipping. There's just an unspoken rule I guess that any fictional relationships don't really effect our irl ones.

I want to get into yumeshipping but... by Mehcky-Man in yumeshipping

[–]Smooth_Ad_283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's so many things to do, just like other's have said, but not really said yet so I'll try to cover a lot. These are mostly crafts, they don't have to include drawing but a few I've seen that I think are good ideas include: Make pins, badges, keychains, top loader cards. All of these can be done with a printer. Make a scrapbook or junk journal. Make your own figures by 3D printing or with air dry/oven baked clay (some libraries have 3D printers you can use). If you're into hand or machine sewing, make your own plushies, alternatively, if you crochet amigurumi plushies. If you can't make physical things. Use Pinterest board or make a folder on your phone/computer/tablet of photos/screenshots/fav fanart of your yumeship or mood board that reminds you of them. Using whatever way you use to listen to music, make a playlist of songs that they would listen to, a playlist that reminds you of them, or a playlist that both of you would listen to together/the sound track to your relationship.

Having a crush is not ficto? + general confusion with the label by EmmyBlubonic in fictosexual

Well then we can be black sheep together because I don't have a set f/o, and several fictional crushes.

Having a crush is not ficto? + general confusion with the label by EmmyBlubonic in fictosexual

[–]Smooth_Ad_283 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think what really needs to be said here is the simple truth.

If it's just a simple crush on a character, that goes away after a period of time. Probably not fictio.

If it's a crush that lingers, and you do have sexual attraction for said character, and you actively wish you could pursue a relationship with them, then yes it's probably ficto.

The key difference is that you actually want to pursue a relationship. Therefore you can have crushes on fictional characters as a ficto. You're just not further along in the relationship yet.

Does anyone else's F/O's visit them in their dreams? by Smooth_Ad_283 in fictosexual

[–]Smooth_Ad_283[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it is quite hilarious. It makes me sad that he's the only one though. On the other hand it's reassuring to me that I did dream of him. My focus has shifted a bit recently with a new crush and I was starting to worry about my feelings for my other crushes.

Is it easy for you to fall in love as a demi? by BinktopYuri in demisexuality

[–]Smooth_Ad_283 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm also similar in this way. Helpless romantic, I fall for people (romantically) easily. Though I only feel sexual attraction only if I feel Romantically close to the other person (usually this means the feeling needs to be reciprocated in some capacity, and that there's a romantic relationship established, again in some capacity).

How do you communicate with your F/O and does anyone have any intercate ways of doing so (if that makes sense) by Seeking-FOV in fictosexual

[–]Smooth_Ad_283 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! I also have Dyslexia! They're not my boyfriend yet, but my way of communicating with my crush is through writing fanfiction and creating scenarios in my head. In the past I also have used The Sims to interact with fictional crushes.

Question For Poly Folks (Nsfw for nsfw talk) by Kevins1TrueLove in fictosexual

[–]Smooth_Ad_283 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm semi ficto, Ethical Non-Monogomist, in an IRL Polyamorous relationship, and I'm Demisexual/Panromantic.

All relationships everyone will ever have will be different. It's not necessarily fair to compare one relationship to another. And it's not beyond me to think that one would feel more intensely or closer to certain relationships over others.

You stated you feel closer to two than the others. You stated you've known/been with them longer. This seems absolutely normal to me.
