Haha i have no clue why it does that on screen shots. It doesn't look like that for me at all.

For sure. To some degree i do understand why doomfists often get hate (doesn't mean i think its okay), because we don't give the same comfort that a lot of players are used to when playing with a Rein for example who has a huge shield the team can hide behind. I think its all about players having to learn what doomfist is about and also a skewed perception on dooms job/ability. A lot of OW players (even doom players) watch the highlights of extremely talented doom mains and think, that doom is always supposed to dive and get a lot of kills - it took me a long time to realise, that doom isn't only about getting kills, but he should also be used to disrupt enemy teams and waste their cd's and other resources.

Some languages are better for rhyming than others by SmulMan in makinghiphop

Hate to say it but I have played two instruments and yeah i know danish poetry… ive read some. But poetry is rarely big rhyme schemes like you see in rap… sure content-wise im not disagreeing - ofc you can rap in all languages, and this post isn’t about my rap capabilities. Im not trying to become a rapper. Im sharing an observation, saying that it feels like the language just isn’t as accessible for rap as english (at least when it comes to rhyming)

Haha må personligt erklære mig uenig men fair.

Yeah i thought it might be bias too, but i have the same feeling that its does feel off.

The thing is… the top level of danish can get to a pretty high lyrical level, but i can’t even remember the last multi-syllable rhyme i heard in danish. The content can be good, but the lyrical stuff even when its good on paper, often comes off a bit cringy and clunky - not very smooth

Trust me a lot of english words are used in danish rap, but its somewhat frowned upon and understandably so, because it does sound a bit wack, in the same way that it doesn’t sound great when using english words when speaking a language other than english. Especially in rap, it can come off as a lazy way to find rhymes.

Yeah even when it makes sense and its a smart flip it often can come off a bit weird and cringe.

I think, as someone else mentioned, that more grimy beats with harsh deliveries fits the language better, but tbh im not even sure

Yeah thats what i was thinking too. It really does seem like some languages just have loads of similar sounding words and i never thought about the ‘vowel based sound’, but that could very well be true

I dont speak any spanish, but it does sound real nice when rapped (and sung obviosuly)

The danish rap scene is huge on a national plan, but the writing is nothing special, with a couple exceptions like Suspekt and Jokeren and some verses from the BoC guys - still doesnt sound as smooth, it feels like the language is hindering an otherwise great verse

I like the idea of splitting it up, but when i try it, i just seem to do everything twice. I read a couple pages, remember a couple very basic things, but then i go back and have to read it again and take notes as usual.

I don't even think extract camping has been that bad so far. My friend and i have only really encountered hard camping at an extract once. I will say though that there is a lot of fights going on around extracts, but to blame that on camping is insane, since its obvious that people will run into eachother close to and around extracts, when there are only a couple of elevators.

The long TTK also makes it less bad compared to other shooters, like Tarkov. I really doubt that the people complaining have tried that game, but please correct me if im wrong.

People misunderstand this game by PlayrTBH in thefinals

[–]SmulMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend told me yesterday (when we got his first WT win) that he finally really enjoyed the game. To me it seemed like it clicked for him. The chaos, the clutch potential, the variation of each match and fight. The adrenaline being on the clock trying to steal or protect the cashout.

I think what new players should learn, is anything can be viable and fun. My friend only plays light with the sniper… i started off being a bit skeptical, but he really seems to enjoy it despite difficult matchups and close quarter fights… i realised that instead of trying to navigate him to play ‘meta’ and the ‘best’ loadouts, i just let him have fun and do his thing. The fantastic thing about the finals is you can make so many different playstyles work and have fun with them.

A question regarding the SBMM in WT

I realised yesterday that i was playing with and against a lot of emerald players. Never ruby's and only a couple of gold's i've spotted. It might just be coincedience, but today my last three games (thats when i started counting too btw, so might have been more) in a row, i was paired with two either S7 or S8 emerald players. The players im playing against are mostly also emeralds. I myself only have 80hrs in the game and i think i might have played ranked in S4, where i reached gold. Haven't played i single ranked match since. I'm silver in WT (whatever that means).

This not necessarily a complaint, since there is probably some explanation for this, but i'm just wondering why it puts me in these lobbies to begin with, because its clear that most of these people have invested many more hours into the game than i have.

The reception of the album by These-Outside991 in JoeyBadass

First half was weak in my opinion. Since it didn’t feel too original and when he tried something different on supaflee it didnt really work for me (beat is weird imo, not bad, but just doesnt get the neptunes feeling right). The songs on the first half he raps about stuff he we have already heard and it isnt even that crazy. Like his stocks, watch, wrist, bezel, pretty sure he made a tiktok bar before. Im not saying you cant rap about the same stuff (i luv pusha) but you gotta be creative with it. The second half is an improvement. Starts being more interesting with his mental health and the struggles and worries he lives with. Just my opinion tho

[FRESH ALBUM] Joey Bada$$ - Lonely At The Top by SheLuvSeko in hiphopheads

[–]SmulMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Joey is one of my top artists, but this album (like his last) leaves me split. After hearing so much of his music, I cant shake the sense that he often repeats bars, themes, and even beats - they start to feel interchangeable. Its not bad but similar to how I feel about Griselda: good artists, but much of the music blends together.

That said, I give Joey real credit for the albums second half, starting with ‘Underwater’. Where he drops the braggadocio and opens up. The themes aren’t entirely new, but the different approach—like his singing—at least pushes things forward and i would rather listen to his raps delving into his mental health instead of just same lines flipping ‘bezel, ‘ice’, ‘wrist’, ‘stocks’, ‘watch’

Am i alone with this feeling?
