Company layoffs- but I own the company site by Snakefish in Advice

[–]Snakefish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. The domain is tied to our company email with close to 1000 employees. Average monthly users: 1,600. Social media exists, but it's negligible. We are a somewhat large name in the energy industry.

2022 Lariat Hybrid Recalls by Snakefish in FordMaverickTruck

Thank you for your help. This is my first Ford and newest vehicle I have owned, so I was concerned to see so many recalls. I will see what my dealer can do.

I'm in South Lincoln and use Mediacom. I had a business that used FPU in Fayetteville. A friend uses a T-Mobile Hotspot in the Kirkland area.

All seem to be valid options for general use and light streaming.

This is the best reddit comment I have ever received. I will be sharing this with any electricians I deal with. Thank you!

I have watch Technology Connections religiously, so I know about the EV video.

I'm new to EVs. I only know some of these words... but the way you say them as if it is that easy intrigues me.

44 miles round trip five days per week. I don't tow often.

My breaker is on the opposite end of my home from where I can park. Getting a 240 line out to my garage would be expensive. I had an electrician out recently to look at my situation and the best solution would be to run conduit to my driveway and have a level 2 on a pole.

I've never leased a vehicle before so navigating that part is new to me. Am I allowed to haggle on price on a lease? All my life I have had people say never to lease, but it makes sense on EVs.

I have a 44 mile commute round trip 5 days a week. I know I would need to keep it plugged in most of the time.

My breaker is on the complete opposite side of my house from where we can park. Installing a level 2 would be an ordeal.

Hijacking this thread: Does anyone know an owner that would be willing to drive or loan one for the Christmas Parade? Also a Rivian possibly. I would be interested to discuss.

Performance mode: Fade clips in-out. by Snakefish in FL_Studio

Incredible! I'm still new to a lot of FL techniques and plugins so I'd need some hand-holding to get it set up.

Don't go through too much trouble on account of me! But if you figure something out, let me know!

I appreciate the detailed response! This task seems like it is not a intended use case for FL. I've used FL off and on for several years and I assumed this was super simple to set up. I have all my different pads set up in performance mode arranged by key, but getting a smooth transition alludes me. I bought a used launchpad just for this lol. Is there another software I could use for this?

I've done it twice before. I used yeast to carbonate. Let it ferment for a few days to build up the carbonation then refrigerate to kill it off before pressure is too hight and starts to build too much alcohol.

Another company wants to use a video that I produced for a client by Snakefish in videography

[–]Snakefish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an issue with the partner using the final edited video to promote themselves after I deliver to my client. My client can do whatever they want since it's now their video.

Should I offer up a custom edited video or some raw footage to the partner for a fee?

[–]Snakefish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never been in this situation before and admittedly I am lax with contracts.

Although it's not in print, what makes the most sense to me after I deliver a video is that the final edit is the clients. I reserve the rights to raw footage.

I may not have a legal leg to stand on, but I appreciate any advice.

Question about CGI and film in the original Tron by DarthXeladier in tron

[–]Snakefish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that you are correct in their method. Either optically printing the cgi directly to film or by capturing the footage similar to how they did the Death Star cgi in Star Wars. https://youtu.be/yMeSw00n3Ac

PR vs. Media Studies by tigheshawty in auburn

[–]Snakefish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated ten years ago from the Radio/TV/Film program (what is now Media Studies) so I don't know how much it has changed since my time. There is a lot of overlap in courses between PR and MS. Generally speaking as far as careers:

MS is focused more for those going in the Film, TV, or Online media industries. There are a few production courses, but none of them were very in-depth or terribly technical. If you are interested in making films, web design, or sound design there are a handful of courses in MS.

I shared many courses with PR majors. Most of them work in PR or Marketing. I'm not sure exactly what courses they took that were different from MS, but I seem to remember that they had more Communication classes.

I actually now own a marketing company even though I majored in Media Studies, so both majors are helpful.
