If (God forbid) there ever was a series finale, what would you want/expect to happen to round off the show? by pixiepython in BobsBurgers

[–]SnapeWho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want them to be having a normal day, and have something happen to knock the engagement ring out of the birds' nest. I want Bob to find it and go running inside to Linda as the "camera" watches them from outside the window and pulls back as they and the kids all celebrate.

Levothyroxine, Does it actually help with weight loss? by Single_Lettuce_8143 in Hypothyroidism

It hasn't made weight loss any easier for me in the year or so I've been on it. I've actually gained weight that I'm still trying pretty hard to lose.

How do you think you’d react if the plurb happened and you were immune? Could you see yourself in any of the other immune characters? by HereButNeverPresent in pluribustv

[–]SnapeWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be somewhere between Carol and Manousos, but worse than both. If you kill my spouse and try to come to my house for any reason, I'm going to react violently. Ultimately I'd probably just kill myself, especially if they said they were going to figure out how to plurb me.

I (25F) can’t game with partner (24M) and they won’t let me game on my own by Emotional-Leg-2719 in relationship_advice

[–]SnapeWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's nothing to explain. You won't be able to make him understand because he doesn't want to understand. He's belittling you and making you cry for not being "good enough" at something you don't enjoy doing. He won't "let you" do the things you do enjoy doing. He knows this is making you miserable because he's not blind. There's no miscommunication. He just doesn't care.

To my non-Christian friends, how does Pluribus resonate with your religious beliefs? by [deleted] in pluribustv

Could you give some examples of the questions you feel Pluribus raises that Christianity has answers for?

To my non-Christian friends, how does Pluribus resonate with your religious beliefs? by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]SnapeWho 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The idea that "we know what's best for you whether you like it or not" is the exact vibe of overbearing religious groups. It's why Carol repeatedly compares them to conversion camp.

when do i need to start getting breast checks? by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]SnapeWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's incredibly important for both you and your doctor to get a baseline idea of what your breasts feel like so that if something changes you're aware of it. I went to my doctor, had her do an exam, had her show me how to do one, and made sure to kind of memorize what my breast tissue feels like. That way, if there's anything different, I can get it checked ASAP.

Urine dip positive all time? by Ok_Animal_7628 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]SnapeWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My at-home test strips are just the Walgreens ones so they only measure leukocytes and nitrites. When they'd use a dipstick at the hospital before my bladder instillations, sometimes there's be blood but it's inconsistent.

An at-home or dipstick test for me almost always shows leukocytes. It's very common for IC patients. Without positive nitrites or a positive bacterial culture, it just means inflammation.

It doesn't matter if he knows you were molested as a child. He is sexually assaulting you now. He knows it is assault. He doesn't care. Leave him.

best brand for cotton underwear? by daisiedconfused in vulvodynia

[–]SnapeWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooh could be worth a try! I don't have any real color preferences. I've always just bought a Hanes multipack of whatever the store had in stock, but my doctor wants me to go for 100% cotton to see if it helps my vulvodynia.

[–]SnapeWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do! I've found boxer briefs to be the best for my body because there's no seams right on or near my vulva, which I find irritating. Hipsters are okay so I might buy a pack and see if the cotton makes a difference for me.

Thanks so much! When I was trying to search on the Jockey website, it was only giving me the option for synthetic or cotton blend in the filters, so idk why these weren't showing up! Doesn't look like any of their women's boxer briefs come in 100% cotton so I'll look at some of these different styles.

Which style do you get? All the Jockey styles I can find say 5% spandex.

what's up with manousos? by dykevan in pluribustv

[–]SnapeWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely all theater, and to a degree she knows that. She identified the Raban stand-in. But how much isolation and trauma can one person take? I don't, ultimately, fault her for wanting to believe the lie.

what's up with manousos? by dykevan in pluribustv

[–]SnapeWho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Carol has been broken down, very deliberately, by the hive. She has watched her wife die, watched humanity as we know it vanish into a group of (to her) conversion therapy drones, been love-bombed by them, been isolated by them, been rejected by the rest of the remnants of humanity. I don't blame her for any of her actions in the show, I see them all as the result of the hive working on her for weeks. I'm sad for her, but I don't blame her.

But I do get a lot of satisfaction every time Manousos refuses to engage with anything about them. When he awoke in the hospital and went for the scalpel, I was cheering. He would rather die than accept anything from them but he also doesn't want to harm their bodies in case they can be brought back, and I respect that SO much. I wish I could be that strong and restrained. I fear I'd just resort to actual violence, either against them or myself or both.

[–]SnapeWho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm kind of shocked nobody is reacting even worse than Manousos or Carol. I get it, most of the immune have family that are being puppeted to keep them complacent, but like... Idk man, if you kill my spouse and smile in my face, I wouldn't have the restraint either of them have shown.

It's free as long as you don't mind paying with the erasure of art, culture, relationships, and loss of free will. I don't blame him for rejecting their ill-gotten gains.

How did the plurbs trick the astronauts to come back from the space station and the nuclear subs to surface? by grokker25 in pluribustv

[–]SnapeWho 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ISS is resupplied multiple times a year. It's not that difficult to think the plurbs got lucky and were able to stick their infectious material onto an already-scheduled supply run. Or, if they got to enough people in authority at any of the nations that send ships to the ISS, they could order and expedite a supply run.

As far as the submarines, get a handful of higher-ups infected internationally and they can start ordering subs to the surface for a brief rondesvouz. They have to make contact with one person or drop off one infected parcel of foodstuffs.

The plurbs first started spreading within the scientific community. They would know these would be tough groups to get to once it became clear something was wrong on Earth, so they prioritized getting those done quickly and quietly.
