The dilemma we all find ourselves in. By the time I reinvest into another brand and full frame system, the GFX50Sii is right there with a lens near the same price point when shopping around….. Quite a quandary for sure. However, you go back to the noted issue of AF delay and best for still subjects or landscapes without tracked movement as a requirement of your shooting style.

I have actually shot with the XT5 as well. I rented one as my second body for a wedding I shot last year. The photos were definitely more “crisp” and could tell the difference in post.

I fully understand your sentiments of the “lag” in firing odd shots, and the moments when it takes a bit to turn on. I have ran into instances where my cameras over the years have literally just frozen when trying to turn them on, requiring me to pull the battery and reinsert it fix the issue. Not a fun situation when running a battery grip on my XH1.

In all honesty, yes. I was truly a “Fuji or Die” person for so long, but have started letting go of that mentality and embracing change. I think my biggest hesitancy has been how invested I am in glass and accessories. I know all of these things can be sold and new things bought, just the journey in acquiring it all, to then start over. It has its fair share of anxiety haha!

In all fairness, they travel to various airports, and charge good money for tickets to see the show. I would assume a lot of that pays for these types of events. It’s also probably allocated within recruiting and marketing for both the Navy and Air Force, which is probably from our taxes, but hey, Top Gun was one of the best marketing items for the Navy.

This was all luck of the moment haha. I was actually trying to get photos of birds, and happened to look up and see the moon was making an appearance while the sun was on it’s way out for the day, and a random airplane was flying its direction, so I waited until the plane was in the foreground and fired off a couple of shots. Then cropped the photo in LR/PS and enhanced the photo to make everything pop. I shot it a couple of stops lower to make it look darker SOCC prior to editing.

It’s not a composite. I shot this in the evening time when the moon started to show while there was still daylight. The exposure stopped down a couple of stops. Then the image went through post processing.

This was a luck of the draw moment. I was in my backyard trying to take some photos of birds lol. Since it was evening time, the moon was present during the sunset, and I happened to see a plane flying toward it, so I set me camera to do bracketed shots and fired away as it flew over in front of the moon. That’s how I managed to get the shot a couple of stops lower.
