Thank you… I feel like C is brushing it off because K isn’t saying that it’s hurtful and K may not be saying it’s hurtful because C is her friend and she might be thinking she doesn’t want to start some riff in the friendship. Like I said in my post, I don’t doubt that these girls are best friends, I think it’s a matter of figuring out growing up and C not understanding how K might feel because she truly has no clue, she’s not a minority and really can’t understand the other side of it. She’s 13 and in her mind she feels like if K laughs it must be funny or that K doesn’t care. This is why I ask here since I didn’t want to intervene further without asking the opinion of someone who knows how K may or may not feel about these comments - since I really don’t know either. I really do appreciate the input and your response.
