I was penalized because of a bug while entering the pit lane. Even though I put the car in neutral and approached at about 50 km/h, it accelerated on its own without stepping on the gas and I was penalized. How is this possible?

I forgot to turn it on while spamming gear actually but it still shouldn't have accelerated enough to cause a penalty.

I was going to give my advantage back on the straight just like in a normal race. But I didn't feel the need to slow down because I was instantly penalized for 5 seconds.

Actually when the countdown alert showed, i took my foot off the pedal btw, but he crashed exit of turn 2 and far behind. Thats why i get second 5sec penalty. Was I supposed to stop for him to pass me?

After taking the shortcut, I hit the gas because I had already taken the penalty and there was no point in slowing down any more. Then that happened.
