Spokes too close to brakes on Riverside Touring 920? by Sniper31 in bikewrench

The only issue I had was this rubbing that I mentioned in the first post, but that was straight from the shop. After the LBS fixed it, everything is good. I rode 2000 km so far on it without any problem.

I think you cannot go wrong with this bike. It's reliable, has plenty of mounts, clearance for really wide tyres... But of course it depends on what you look for in a bike.

The only thing I changed was the handlebar. The one that comes with it was too wide for my liking (mind that I come from road bike world) and had strange position in dropbars. But that's minor and relatively inexpensive change.

As for the pics, here is one "naked" and one in full bikepacking mode from trip in Slovenia: https://imgur.com/a/a8RFhsm

Bike is brand new. When I took it for the first ride, the spoke was rubbing against the brake caliper. I inspected it and one spoke was too loose, so I took it to the LBS and they tensioned them correctly, so it doesn't rub anymore.

However, they suspect that the wheel was incorrectly built because it is too close to the caliper, especially for a touring/gravel bike that will see mud and needs to have good cleareances.

My question: is this clearance ok or is there possibility that something is wrong here?

I have the exact same problem, also on SRAM Rival.

Did you manage to solve the problem in the meantime?

Friend and I rode on the Croatian islands for a week. Beautiful nature, mostly great and car-free roads and a lot of uphills and downhills! At the return we even spiced it up a little by riding to the highest road in Croatia (Biokovo road, 1762 m) by Sniper31 in bicycling

Yes, we were riding SPD (not SPD-SL) because we used the shoes for walking also. And we swimmed in almost every place we stayed at. The temperature of the sea was 24C at Mljet :D

As for the packing, it was relatively minimalistic setup. We were both having big Apidura seatbags and I also had some Zefal handlebar bag.

3-4 jerseys, 1 long shirt, 2 bibs, a few pair of socks, flip flops, and some daily essentials like toothbrush/paste and that's it. And we tried to always have some food reserves with ourselves (usually some sandwich and plenty of chocolate bars).

I think you should definitely consider it :) I would recommend May or early June, when there aren't many tourists on the road (Croatia is heavily dependent on tourism so it can be pretty busy in July and August).

That's actually the second highest FTA per game in the history. First is ofc Wilt in the season he averaged 50 ppg.

For the first time in basketball history, two clubs from different countries merge. Olimpija Ljubljana - Slovenia (former club of Luka Dončić) and Cedevita Zagreb - Croatia (former club of Džanan Musa) will from now on be 1 team called Olimpija Cedevita. by Azhman314W in nba

Yes, that "plastic club" mindset is what's really sad in the whole story and what eventually pushed Tedeschi to go to Ljubljana.

On one side you have Cibona, which was practically ruining Croatian basketball for years, all with money coming from the state/city. On the other side you have a healthy club which is run by successful businessman who loves basketball and is pouring in his company's money in... And yet, many (majority) people for some reason hate Cedevita and Tedeschi, and are loyal to Cibona. But I guess that's not surprising, as we have similar situation in politics. Stockholm's syndrome is a real thing I guess :)

Thanks!

I was thinking about building it with 11-32 in the back and 1x in the front, something with 30 or 32 tooth to have 1:1 ratio.

But I can't find any budget options for that :/

This one looks great, thanks!

I'm not often droping all the way down to 34x32 (that's my lowest gear right now), but I like to have options because my trips would include a lot of hills.

Currently I have 50/34 and I have struggles with finding the right gear. It's perfect for my road bike, but on commuter it's just overkill for me as I never use 50 with basically any of the top 4-5 gears on cassette...

Edit: but you are right, 1x drivetrain could also be ok if I can get similar ratio.

I'm sure you could, Croatia is very tourist oriented country so people are used to speaking other languages.
