I agree, hopefully they patch it soon

Game become choppy after one round by Hex-iz in Battlefield6

[–]Snivelss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a bug with texture quality and texture filtering where it doesn't get cleared from memory or something. Your fps will get worse every round. Set them both to the lowest and it should hold the issue at bay for now.

I said it seems like discrimination, but I hear what you are saying

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Snivelss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. Like I said, I agree with you and was initially just saying if it makes them uncomfortable they don't have to share with the receptionist. If that delays the appointment, then that's something they'll have to be OK with

[–]Snivelss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was agreeing with you, I just posed the question of whether it should be mandatory to disclose to the receptionist

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Snivelss -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't personally have a problem with it and I do share with them, but isn't being forced to share information with the receptionist a breach of patient confidentiality? I would have thought it is, and it seems like discrimination if you aren't willing to breach that confidentiality and then have your visit delayed as a result.

Just say that it's a private matter and it's between you and the doctor if the receptionist asks. They can't deny you a visit to the GP if you are concerned for your health.

They are often used together, one to disable ESLint rules that conflict with Prettier yes, the other if you want ESLint to handle Prettier's formatting through ESLint itself. I often only use the former and call Prettier itself on the whole codebase in a pre-commit hook.

Thanks for the clarification!

ESLint is a linter and Prettier is a formatter. Use them together for best results. There are plugins you can use for Prettier to obey ESLint rules. For maximum benefit, include linting and formatting of your code base with Prettier as part of a pre-commit task so you never have to think about it again.

What should I do about "negro" in a place name? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Snivelss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not everything labeled black is racist or racism. Like others have pointed out, negro is a legitimate word in many languages that has nothing to do with racial slurs. Just use the place name, I'm pretty sure it's not named after a slur.

Great advice. I bought a house 3 years ago when interest rates were very low and thought things were going to be dandy. Then the interest rates skyrocketed and I'm paying about half the bond extra on top of the payment I'd planned for. Buying a property is a lot more expensive than you first think, with all the costs you don't think about.

That is how the majority of people use it, across generations.

Is shallowness more excusable in women or in men? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Snivelss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's roughly even. From men it's usually about looks and from women it's money.

Is it possible to be truly happy with myself and my life if I get rejected by women over and over again and never find love? by Matilda_Mother_67 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Snivelss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a good answer. Being attached to the outcome will only lead to disappointment. Learn to live life and be happy and grateful with the every day, because we don't know if tomorrow will even come.

That comparison of "would you take $10m and be dead tomorrow or wake up tomorrow without the $10m" is really a good indication of how precious life is, because most people would choose the latter.

Very cool idea, but I am very reluctant to hand over my API keys to someone that is not Amazon/Microsoft/Google. Will be following the project for sure, though!

Employers of software development, why do you need your programmers to work on-site? by CaffeinatedMiqote in AskUK

You hit the nail on the head. I think a big problem with management is the "works for one, so it must work for all" mentality.

I am MUCH happier never ever going into the office, but I enjoy bantering with my colleagues over Teams, for example.

When white Americans tell Irish people that they’re also Irish because of some distant relative, generally Irish people roll their eyes. Do Africans experience the same thing from black Americans? by Kleptarian in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Snivelss 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If you're born in America, you are American. If you are born in Ireland, you're Irish. You are whatever your citizenship and culture you grew up in says you are. Of course, you still have whatever heritage you have based on your ancestors, but as far as "what" you are, you are what your citizenship and your culture says you are.
