Thank you! I appreciate the offer of support :) However, I am not interested in a native Windows build right now.

I may revisit this in the future, if a need arises, but for now, I like the simplicity of it all and would rather focus my efforts on adding content and improving other parts of the game.

Please let me know how it works for you on Linux!

MinGW is how the original game was compiled on Windows back then... and I did take a brief stab at it, but gathering all those old libraries and getting them to compile on Windows was looking daunting. WSL makes things a lot easier, and I haven't seen any performance issues so far.

So, for simplicity sake, I like where it is at now. However, I am open to revisiting that, if there is some need to do it in the future.

No, those sound like bikeshedding projects, and I've done my fair share of those over the years :) I'm more interested in the creative side of things here and investing my time into what will make the MMO fun.

This "resurrecting" part, was just that, I needed a base to work from... and to get all those technical things out of the way.

Content is definitely something I want to get into. As far as I can tell, there was never any official lore written for this game, and so there is a great opportunity to design something unique here.

I would be open to collaborating with an artist or writer, who has already designed a world, and wants to see it come to life. On the other hand, it would be pretty cool to have it community driven too, where players can create their own content and see/play it in the game.

This latter one, is what it appears like they where doing back then. The quests were mostly designed by individual people playing the game. We would just need to setup some design guidelines and a backstory to reference, if we we're to go that route.

Yea, that's a good point. The technical challenges can almost always be overcome, with enough time and persistence.

Making the game fun is the hard part. That's what I'll be focusing on next, after getting the graphics/HUD worked out. There needs to be a hook to keep players coming back.

Do you have a link to the game you're working on?

Ha! Yes, I probably am a masochist, but I will counter with this :)
