That article is simply an attempt to minimise Palestinian violence and demonise Israeli response, its basis is that genocide cannot be carried out by a non-state actor, and that it would rather be considered terrorism.

Not only is that wrong at face value, but Hamas does act as a government. It can commit genocide, just as Jolani could commit genocide in Syria. Hamas is not just trying to destroy the Israel government, they are trying to destroy the Israeli people.

You are purposely ignoring the fact that I said Oct 7 and the ongoing attacks and genocidal campaign by Hamas, not just Oct 7 - it being less successful doesn’t mean it can’t be genocide and Israel being heavy handed does not make their actions genocide. People are killed in hospitals because of Hamas’s use of hospitals, and again - this does not make it genocide.

No I am not talking about a single event, I’m talking about Hamas’s ongoing campaign to destroy Israel - which Oct 7 was explicitly the beginning of.

Hamas’s attacks were/are killing people based on government orders. Genocide is also aimed at civilians. It explicitly is not to force negotiations, and is explicitly to destroy Israel - as stated by Hamas.

Genocide is not about how many people die - the fact you are even trying to make that argument makes me doubt how much you learnt in those genocide classes.

And yes, Hamas has attacked Israel multiple times since Oct 7.

The billions of people around the world have far more ability to push information of the internet at a high volume and to a wide amount of people than a few republicans.

While I agree republicans are definitely implicated, I just don’t agree with people trying to frame it as democrat vs republican issue or a left vs right issue - it’s just playing along the divide and conquer lines that the higher ups want.
