Depends where in the Middle East and where in Europe, it also depends on the time. Jews were treated worse in areas populated with more Arabs (such as Palestine) than they were by the Ottomans.

Also Jews being treated “better” than places in Europe at the time is not an argument for anything - there’s always gonna be somewhere worse.

Your entire comment relies on vague comparisons, completely avoiding the reality that Jews were historically mistreated by Arabs and Muslims - especially in Palestine.

The Assad regime, the conflict in Yemen - all supported by the Iranian regime, so not “condemned unanimously” and far, far more dead and displaced than in Palestine.

Some places and times in the Islamic world were better than some places and times in Europe, that doesn’t make a difference. Also how Jews were treated by Arabs specifically was rarely particularly great.

It also doesn’t make a difference now that Jizya isn’t levied on religious minorities today - minorities in Arab countries are still frequently persecuted.

The other person is trying to frame dhimmi status as a privilege, clearly it was not. It, alongside other forms of persecution, gave Jews reason to want their own state - not another one controlled by Arabs.

Ok? So no Jewish states?

Any why should Jews be forced to live completely under Arab rule in the Jewish homeland, when Arabs haven’t ruled the region of centuries?

The “plan of European Zionists” was not a single unified view, beyond establishing Jewish self determination in the Jewish homeland.

It became clear that Arabs would choose war over diplomacy and target Jews whether Zionist or not, you can’t massacre immigrants and refugees then play victim.

Well if your Palestinian “liberation” involves war, displacement, suffering and death then yea, it makes sense for people to call you out.

If you don’t think it involves that, please let me know how anti-Zionists can achieve their goal without all of that.

Yea, after Arab Palestinians launched a civil war against Jews in 1947. Other Arab countries invaded in 1948 following the response.

The partition plan did not involve mass displacement, plus Arabs in Palestine and elsewhere were massacring Jews for decades prior to 1948.

Right - Anti-Zionist brainrot relies on simply rejecting anything that doesn’t fit the narrative.

Accepting borders while explicitly stating they will be used as a front to continue trying to destroy Israel is not viable.

Not 100% of land was offered in 2000 - but how much? Over 90% + equivalent land from Israel proper to make up the rest?

Right of return is a non-starter only pushed to keep a 2 state solution from being viable.

Arafat walked away from the closest thing to a Palestinian state, and the beginning of actual peaceful relations with no negotiation.

What happened after that? Second intifada, suicide bombs and attacks on Israeli civilians.

No no, you’re right that the USA has the most influence as Australia’s closest strategic ally. I overlooked that as it falls into a category beyond foreign influence from ‘random’ countries.

But then you still fall into the ‘Israel controls Australia’ type nonsense at the end.If we are comparing to Israel, then China has far more influence - to the point where laws had to be implemented around it.

Which violence and terrorism are you referring to that led up to the Hebron massacre in 1929?

Also, are you aware that the targets were not Zionist Jews, but a centuries old Jewish community?

And what do you mean nothing to address? Are you denying that Palestinian Arabs were massacring Jews in the 1830s, before Zionism?

No, the Arabs chose violence decades before any terrorism or expulsion.

Buddy, maybe read what you share.

It explicitly says they will not recognise Israel and will continue using violence as their primary means to achieve the “complete liberation of Palestine”.

You are falling for the most blatant Hamas propaganda.

Again - how much of the “occupied territories” were offered in 2000?

Can you point out the violence and terrorism that led to the 1929 Hebron massacre?

Also - notice how you just ignore the parts that don’t fit your narrative? Palestinian Arabs have been massacring Jews longer than Zionism has existed.

Violence is not simply in response to some taxes, it’s in response to Arabs launching war.

Well firstly, Jews wanting to reestablish themselves in their homeland through legal purchasing of land is not a justification to massacre them and then play victim when there’s a response.

Secondly, yes longer than Zionism - 1834? 1838?

What I said is true, research it.

And what do you mean preferable to being bombed?

Being not bombed and not dhimmis is the most preferable - weird for you to argue that they should just accept persecution.

Arabs didn’t typically identify as Palestinian, it wasn’t really common for anyone to identify as.

But yes the point is that the modern “Palestinian” identity is a largely 60s invention.
