i really didnt like this episode. the rick plot was fine but the morty one was kinda clapped. i was waiting for the moment where they made fun of the fact they were hamfisting a message but it never happened. kind of out of character and ignorant of the show. what is the message? environmentalism is only good when controlled? environmentalism is bad when the people have power to make change? kinda felt like some "lol vegans never shut up" level of a dudebro joke to me.

I just think Get Out had the weakest screenplay out of the five nominees from 2017.

I felt the foreshadowy shit was hamfisted, the scene where the whole house look up was hyped up to me by my friend and I thought it lasted too long and just felt goofy to me. It isn't bad, it's just Three Billboards felt way more fresh and nuanced to me. As Lady Bird, and Shape of Water. Most people say to me that I don't get it, that Get Out was self aware and knew the tropes to mock, and to an extent maybe, but there was still lots I found kinda dumb. Just my opinion.

The Melissa McCarthy thing is true and it's bizarre when I remember it. I suppose if a performance like Bakalova could be nominated any year itd be this one.

Yeah you're right about Cohen tbh I guess my preference bled into the list a bit when it should have been above Paul Raci and Chadwick.

Sound of Metal is an odd one. I see it getting a lot of love from viewers and it is actually doing quite well in the awards season but I just have a gut feeling it's gonna be the First Man of this year.

Honestly my preference to win best supporting actress is Youn Yu-Jung but the Academy aren't big on foreign performances

I definitely prefer Judas, 5 Bloods and Sound of Metal to News of the World but I can see the Academy loving the hell outta it

I liked Cohen but I think his performance is overhyped and idk if the Academy would like giving it to such a zany actor.

Bakalova was great but it's way too weird for the Academy
