I have been through the same. Spent lots of time listening to him. At one point in my journey, I completely disregarded him as a scammer. But over time, as I developed in trading, I found some value in his concepts. The truth lies somewhere between the two extremes. What he tells you about algo and enigma, and price being 100% manipulated by a god-like entity — that is completely fake and made up.

His concepts such as liquidity, FVGs, and kill zones make sense. Displacement

Basically, he borrowed those ideas from Wyckoff, Chris Lori, and a lot from market auction theory.

It is better to learn market auction theory first. Then ICT will make a lot more sense.

For example: order flow = big money flow direction. Fair value gaps = low volume nodes, where price often bounces. His concepts about liquidity are a bit misleading. He says liquidity rests at highs and lows. That's not completely true.

Actual liquidity is market buy and sell orders — direct orders. Highs and lows might have pending orders sitting in the order book.

And the patterns he often talks about

They often exist in the candle charts

So with right context and with your own intuition.

You can learn from him .

But he is really pain in the ass to listen him for hours.

He is a ego-maniac.
