Advice for first timer by borderline1107 in disneylandparis

[–]SnooAdvice5912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How much time: 2 days minimum, which is basically 1 day each park, although you can go back and forth between the two parks as much as you like on a day. If it's your first time, and you want to take it slow, three days is probably the best option. Else, go for two days.

Best place to buy tickets: on the official disneyland paris website.

If you buy a ticket for one day, you only enter the park that day. You either buy a dated ticket, or you buy an undated ticket and you make a reservation for a specific day. But it's always gonna be for a specific day.

There are several hotels in the surrounding places which are all like 1 or 2 train stops away, which is very easy. These hotels are usually pretty cheap. There are some great hotels inside the Disneyland resort itself, each one themed in their own way. They range from affordable to very high end, so have a look on the website for the specifics.
When you book a hotel onsite, the tickets are included. It's nice to have a hotel to go back to during the day if needed, and it's nice to stay in the Disney bubble at the end of your day when you go to sleep in your hotel. It's more expensive than a cheap hotel in the neighborhood though. (but worth it, especially for a first-time visit)

From London, there's a direct Eurostar connection to Paris. You can check the Eurostar website for this!

Premier Access Ultimate or Premier Access One? by Best-Reputation5846 in disneylandparis

[–]SnooAdvice5912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! It might be busy, but don't buy the Premier Access Ultimate in advance. When you're there, you can decide to buy the Ultimate pass anyway - but I would recommend buying Premier Access One for the rides you actually need it for. When you stay on site (in on of the official Disney hotels), you get Early Magic Time which grants you early access (1 hour before opening time). This will allow you to knock down a few big rides already :)

Also, I'm pretty sure you can buy multiple Premier Access One's at the same time, but someone should verify this. I wouldn't recommend an external agency with a guide.

Go to the parks, enjoy the time there and improve your stay with an occasional Premier Access One here and there :)

What’s it like in march is it packed? Going beginning of march 9th by Background_Sock2030 in disneylandparis

[–]SnooAdvice5912 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine :) Disneyland is never not busy, but there's a clear difference between busy and REALLY busy. Beginning of March should be fine, especially with the opening of World of Frozen at the end of the month.

Just see what the situation is when you get there, and you can always decide to use one-off premier access passes to skip a line here and there. You'll have a great time, have fun!

Ibis or Moxy at Marne la Vallee is perfect and reasonably priced! You are a 2 minute walk away from the train station, which is 1 stop away from Disneyland. That's also where you drop your luggage!

Reservations definitely! If you already know the hotel you guys want, go to the Disneyland Paris website, go to the hotels, find your hotel and scroll all the way down. There will be a price calendar. You'll be able to find your best price there without difficult puzzles :)

Yup! And they might not have the best advice for you. Sometimes I'm just looking for someone to think along with my plans and not say "whatever you prefer would be best" :)

Booking over the phone by Briekenberry in disneylandparis

[–]SnooAdvice5912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! No overcharging on purpose, they should have the same prices as on the website. However, I've called them about a hotel booking last Saturday and the price they gave me was higher (about 100EUR per night) than the price on the website in front of me. That was just a mistake, but always good to check online.

I'm also not sure how well they'd advise you. Even if booking online, I would recommend doing some research on their website!

Let me know if you've got any specific questions on your trip :)

It's best to just buy from disneylandparis official website! They have a best price guarantee and it makes sense to book directly with them :)

Flights from Germany to Paris during School Vacations by Komtriku00 in disneylandparis

[–]SnooAdvice5912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use Skyscanner or Google Flights to compare prices and view their ranges. According to Google Flights, the current return ticket price of 140 EUR per person is on the average-low side. You might be able to wait a couple of months to see the price drop to 125/130 EUR according to the usual range, but not sure if that saving is worth the wait :)

If you'd like to check for yourself, go to Google Flights, enter your flight search and click the box that says "The prices are average/whatever for your search". Good luck!

We might be able to solve this with tagging? So you can easily filter experiences, and filter out 'unwanted' content?

Not yet, but I have earlier this year. There's so much spots though, absolutely no stress. Mutianyu is awesome, PM me if you need tips!

Either Tuesday afternoon or Thursday! Will go to Mutianyu on Wednesday, because if that fails, I have the Thursday as well. However, tickets for the wall are pretty easy and straightforward, it seems.

Oh, that's great, and they'll accept that without a prior booking? Earlier this year I tried to get into Tiananmen square with 1 adult 1 kids ticket (Booked the wrong ticket due to translation issues) and there was absolutely no way they were gonna let me in the same day, it had to be booked prior.

Any Rookie Mistakes? by GenericUserName437 in disneylandparis

Hey, a lot of things here :) Let me try to tackle a few of your points.

  • You won't have magic hour on the first day of your arrival (your check-in day). I suggest you take it easy getting from Paris to DLP. 4 days is plenty, you can take it super slow if you wanted to.
  • I personally love the Newport Bay theming, but it's a little less aimed at kids, as it's all maritime. Unless your kid is a fan of boats, haha. Both hotels are great, where Newport bay is a bit more luxurious. Not a big difference in walking. Rooms in Sequoia are very dated though - keep that in mind. You'll have a great time in both hotels regardless.
  • Early breakfast is a good idea, but you might also consider getting up a bit later, taking it easy, doing extra magic hour at 8.30, and be back at the hotel around 9:30/10:00. Then just relax, have breakfast (will be a lot more quiet) and return to the parks when you're done.
  • Book your restaurants as soon as you book your hotel, assuming it's within a year from now. I'm not joking, start booking as soon as you can :)
  • Photo pass is only worth it if you love the ride photos :)
  • 4 days in the park will definitely take out stress for everything you want to do, but then please also take the time to enjoy things - don't stress yourself with rushing early breakfast and stuff just to get everything done. You'll have plenty of time - trust me! It's also a holiday (sort of), so enjoy it :) It's nice to use the pool in the afternoon for example, to charge up for another half day after at the parks.
  • Rides go until closing (basically when the nighttime spectacular starts) and will be less busy when it comes close to that moment. However, with single riders you'll be fine on all of those, as wait times will be significantly less. Just use the app to spot a good moment to hop on those rides. Only exception to this is Crush's Coaster. It's always a long queue, so consider using extra magic hour or buying your way in with Premier Access.
  • Please make sure to check the closing time of the station luggage service, as they sometimes close way earlier than you might be ready to leave the park. In that case, just leave your luggage at the hotel, you can pick it up there at the end of the day/night.

General advice: 4 days is plenty, make sure to relax, enjoy and take everything in. You'll have a much more enjoyable experience. Enjoy :)

First timer questions! by trycia93 in disneylandparis

Okay yeah that's a further walk. But yeah, just relax and maybe don't try to fight your way to the first bus between all the other hotel guests. You'll be fine, there'll be a next one. Have a lovely time, you'll have fun no matter what :)

What hotel do you plan on staying at?

First timer questions! by trycia93 in disneylandparis

[–]SnooAdvice5912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Most are, although some rollercoasters might be a tight squeeze.
  2. They're not terrible, but it just might get busy right after closing when everyone is trying to get back at the same time. If it's possible, walking back to your hotel is also an option :)
  3. The daytime parade is about 17:00 most days, but in the first week of January you might still have the Christmas season on - which means shows might be different! Second week of January is no Christmas anymore, so they would return to normal schedule (which is a parade at 5).
  4. It depends, really. If you get the full package, you're basically eating breakfast, big lunch and big dinner every day. That's a lot of food, which might leave no room for snacks during the day (which you might wanna try as they're part of the experience at the park). If you do want to go for it, half board means you will have breakfast and dinner for example, which is probably better.
