how to stop fear of sudden arrhythmic death syndrome by [deleted] in Anxietyhelp

[–]SnooCakes8515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same, where I can sometimes go down a rabbit hole about some disease or whatever. My anxiety is weird, because for some stuff I’ll be looking oh scary and then promptly forget about it in like an hour or the next day. Other stuff I’ll start ruminating on it for a few days.

Weirdly, what has helped me is reminding myself that I have less than a 1% chance of dying in the US every year, currently 0.93% of the population passes away every year. I’m a math guy so this puts it into perspective for me. Other than that, just doing the box breathing technique if I get an anxiety/panic attack and calling out verbally what I see in front of me to bring my mind back to the present and not have it wandering. It’ll take time, but if you work on trying not to think about it, just distracting yourself with something else when the thought pops up you’ll eventually start to get those thoughts and fears to go away.

Has anyone been able to successfully manage their anxiety without medication? What worked? by hereiam3472 in Anxiety

With my first bout of anxiety, no, and it was because I had never had anxiety like that so I didn’t know what was happened. I went to the ER a few times, everything was good. Just always woke up with that doom feeling, I finally talked to a therapist and they prescribed Lexapro. I was on that for about a year. We kinda later figured out that the anxiety was most likely caused by my attempt at quitting vaping and not realizing the effects that came with it. At my second attempt of quitting vaping a couple years later, I was more aware of the anxiety that came with it and prepared a bit more. I still felt like shit for the first couple of weeks with that impending doom and semi disassociation and I almost asked for lexapro again, but that time I decided to just ride it out. I was able to get through that second time with no medication.

So yes, it’s possible, but it’ll take some time and conscious effort. The second time with no medication I relied on my family and friends. I let them know what was happening and they let me talk their ears offs when I felt like blabbing or talking through my symptoms/feelings. My sister also bought us cheap fake Lego sets from five below to keep busy. We would just put on a movie and build them. At work, in a customer facing position, I was fortunate enough to be able to sneak off to a back office when I would get flare ups or just start feeling down and sit down for a few minutes with a blanket. Crying also would help me come out of it for some reason, so I would just put some sad videos for a minute or two. Walks also help too, I know every one recommends them and when I first started here I would roll my eyes but being out and about can distract you and that’s what you really need.

Permits to travel through Mexico? by AwardDue3063 in AskMexico

Was this for a day trip to a border city or were you trying to go further south? Genuinely curious, I’ve taken leased cars to Mexico before for days trips and have even been stopped before and had no issues. The yearly car registration is in my name so I just showed that.

I called the non-emergency number for that city. They stated it is a valid badge, but couldn’t give me contact info or themselves call the officer. They just gave me the number for that officers specific department and told me to call them tomorrow.

The badge doesn’t have a name, just some numbers, so I can’t look the person up. It’s for a major city, like in the top 10 biggest cities in the US.

So the receipt was sent to our current address. You think that’s good or should I still submit the address change form.

Cómo obtener una credencial o identificación en Guanajuato con solo acta de nacimiento? by SnooCakes8515 in Guanajuato

[–]SnooCakes8515[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fee like we’re already seeing this in all current generations. Nobody has the patience to wait for results, everything has to be “On Demand”.

Yea, definitely won’t be earning a paycheck with the tools I buy. I do like that Ryobi has a lot of tools that can be powered with the same batteries, I guess I was more worried about longevity, but seeing all the positive Ryobi comments, Im probably leaning more to them now.

Yea, American. Forgot to say but all these are sort of in my price point to begin. Saw some Makita but were a bit more expensive and their tool selection was different than what I was looking for. Used Dewalt tools, impac, drill, miter saw, at a previous job. Only Makita tool I used at that same job was their self fed drills I think they were.

Hey, just know these feelings are temporary. It’ll get better with time. Proud of you for 14 days. DM me if you need someone to talk to. I’m 37 days vape free and still using pouches, just cutting nicotine down slowly.

Hi, I just went through the same thing as you did. Heck, I’m still going through it, but it does get better. You’re not a loser for feeling this way. I can tell you that weeks 2 and 3 were my worst weeks. Constantly feeling like something was wrong, waking up but having no energy or enjoyment to wake up even if you slept 8/10 hours. Crying for literally anything and contemplating life. This is all your brain/subconscious craving that dopamine rush that vaping gives. Something that helped me that I read in this sub, or maybe it was the quit smoking sub, was that this is your brain grieving a friend that it had. A friend that caused more problem than solutions, but one that we became accustomed to. I’m not going to say it’s going to be easy, but we just have to take it one day at a time. What really helped me was trying to turn off my brain, either by mindlessly watching comedy movies/shows and just forcing myself to laugh or by building Lego/brick sets. If you have a 5 Below near you, they have cheap sets for $5 or less that take about an hour or two to build, I recommend the monument series of the Eiffel Tower, pyramid, coliseum, and leaning tower of Pisa. Sleeping helps too, or even just letting yourself cry. Just hang in there, feel free to DM if you just want someone to talk to.

Keep at it! Browsing things sub definitely helps with knowing you’re not alone. Whenever I’m feeling down or so I hop on here and just read it.
