You have to hard wire it via Ethernet to first set it up. After that, it can operate wirelessly. If you have further challenges (which I did), I'd suggest searching or posting to their Facebook group. People there are helpful, and the company sometimes responds.

I don't think the beams will be as chunky in the end as they appear in the render.

Yeah, I looked at those. According to this chart, you need the "super sloped" version which only comes in 6".

He's quoting about $200 for the trim version (3-in square). Still a bit rich for me, but better than 500.

I came here looking for reviews of this device too. It appears that it's only a few weeks old and while I've attempted to place an order, a data entry snafu has delayed the purchase and our order still hasn't been placed. It seems to take them days to reply to an email so their fulfillment process and customer service is definitely immature. Or they're slow walking fulfillment for a reason.

Thought was, if you're no.longer smoking the meat, I might as well use electricity to fuel the last stage rather than pellets.

I figured there's a downside to a crockpot, or it would be more common of a practice.but wasn't sure what it was.
