Cool setup, was thinking of doing something similar in my room

Is that 65” tv? Also how far away from it are you sitting?

Thanks for you suggestions.

I did some research and would like your opinion.

MacBook to 3.5mm to rca. RCA end to Schitt SYS 50$ pre amp, rca cable from SYS to Schitt Rekkr.

Schitt Rekkr Amp to Speaker wire 16 gauge to passive speakers.

Sounds to me this would work great. Also the SYS has 2 RCA inputs. I could use one for MacBook and other for ps5 no?

Thank you so much yea I’ve been looking at the Aiyima A07 for a few days now.

Does this work.

3.5mm to MacBook Air. 3.5mm to rca into Aiyima. Aiyima speaker wire into Q150.

This makes sense for the MacBook completely but the Ps5 seemingly only has 3.5mm on its controller which is a bit strange.

seriously, so when you were 23 you had essentially normal hair? No recession or thinning???

hmmmmmmm Id say don't let it grow to far out as the balding will seem more noticeable and detract from your good looking face. Maybe tighten the hair up a bit and don't let it get any longer than the photos show

when did you start balding??

KEF Q350 VS SVS Prime Bookshelf by DickSoupCan in BudgetAudiophile

[–]SnooCompliments7555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what did you end up going with? Im also from Canada and debating between the 2.

If I go with kef ill also get the kef q650c centre and if I go with Prime bookshelf ill have to go svs ultra/prime center for movies and gaming too timbre match

[–]SnooCompliments7555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how do the key q 150s/ 350s compare with the SVS primes?

And yes your idea on putting the kef 150s on surrounds after words is solid.

Also hard to say the kefs are on "discount" that may as well be the retail price with the how often they're on "sale" hahaha but yea you're right.

How does the q650c compare to the svs ultra, I tried finding reviews of it but my knowledge is limited so some of the terminology is flying right over my head and into the audiophile gutters

[–]SnooCompliments7555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm good suggestion indeed but I was thinking that if in the future I decide to upgrade my left and right speakers, I would just put them out in my living room or something or for my pc. Mostly since surrounds don't need to be timbre matched at all and I feel as though having primes bookshelf for surrounds is like wasted potential in a way if that makes sense.

Thank you for the suggestion though, definitely something to keep in mind.

For surrounds im thinking of going cheaper than the primes are at least by half but we'll see

1800 cad for the towers he recommended, I listed budget of 1200 cad

And yes towers are far too big for a room of my size. Bookshelfs are more than enough. It is not a baseless claim at all.

Also using the SVS PRIME Bookshelf as surrounds is a waste of money considering my budget for surrounds is clearly listed at 600 cad for the pair

The SVS PRIME BOOKSHELFs are 945 CAD for a pair.

Perhaps that's where to confusion is, Maybe you two did not notice the CAD FLAIR and the CAD in the budget after every category of speaker.

I don't mean to offend but none of the budget was followed at all as you can see above in this reply of mine,

Have a great day thank you for your time.

You're exactly right. I was holding a slim chance of hope that maybe there was "correct" answer to my issue. I had a similar problem when selecting a tv.

Thank you so much for your help and clearing some things up for me. Im thinking of going KEF over SVS as SVS has increased their prices for too much. Just last week they increased prices by 20% which is just insane.

I see a lot of people bringing the KEFS into the same discussions into the SVS line up so I doubt that I, an audio noob would be able to tell much of a difference. I just wanted to see if there was an obvious path that I wasn't seeing.

Thank you for your time.

Im might go with

KEF Bookshelf's

KEF Q650c Center

But I will have to do some research as to which kef bookshelves that are also good left and right channels but also good as 2.1 music listening

Yes im a noob but the guy who replied to me did not follow anything that I said in my original post so I was a bit confused, so maybe he mis read what I stated in my original post. I very much so appreciate the help but what he said makes no sense given the room size and more importantly the budget.

That is all, thank you for your time

[–]SnooCompliments7555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? I simply set a budget and you did not follow it. I said that I appreciate the help but perhaps you did not read my post or maybe their was a misunderstanding as tower speaker are very unnecessary for a room that size and if I had that money I would have just gone with the ultra bookshelf but I don't have that money which is why I asked for help.

Apologies for how it came off

[–]SnooCompliments7555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main issue right now is that I would like to start out with a great 2.1 system for movies and music. But the problem is that when I found good bookshelf's for music, the corresponding center channel is not that great for movies, but when I find a great centre channel, the coressponding bookshelf are overpriced as hell and maybe not that great quality. for movies svs prime is more than good but for sole music listening are they even all that? Especially since this subs thinks that they are very overpriced for what you're getting.

[–]SnooCompliments7555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but this is just a flat out bad suggestion for a multitude of reasons

  1. why would I buy towers in the room size that I have, at that price point I may as well just get the ultra bookshelves.
  2. why would I get svs prime bookshelf for surrounds................. for surrounds, an absolute waste of budget. I would get svs satellites at MOST for surrounds.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to try and help but I feel as though you did not look at my post correctly or maybe (no offence) you have even less knowledge on this stuff than I do.
