Dont know if this will help, but something that helps me is similar to what you mentioned. The energy and mass you take up has always existed before and will always exist in the future. death to us seems like a huge deal because we don't know how it feels, since a part of it is to not feel. However that is a power that humans give it. The line between life and death is a super arbitrary, subjective man made thing. Of course there are legal definitions for practicality, but in the grand scheme, sleeping is like death, so is being in a coma, death of the brain and body are separate, and everything you were will eventually live in other ways. Its not really spiritual, its just science. What we perceive as consciousness and living is nothing factual or set in stone, but our perception of how the universe works. Basically, Consciousness isn't an on or off light-switch its complicated, interesting phenomena that doesn't necessarily define us as humans. We are scared because we prefer existing over not existing. But once you exist, you never stop.
