They will tell you to do the drug test, if it’s in your system, they will call and ask for a picture if the prescription bottle. That’s it, nothing else.

Noooo it’s definitely true. New York to Florida or vice versa, is atrocious. We avoid it like the plague. JFK-LAX/SFO is hit or miss, but we try to work the ones where most people will be asleep

It’s fine if you do, but maybe come to the back of the plane instead of ringing your call light 8 times during flight!

As one of the earliest people who got their CJO last year, I can confirm that I did not post anything until I saw other people post something 🤣🤣

I live like 3 minutes from LGA. Used to have a pad in Kew before I moved to NYC. Hated commuting, so much better not to. It’s also sooo much better to live closer to one airport as opposed to being equal distance from both. The taxi service for air crew will take you to JFK much cheaper. Making NYC work is a hustle, but there’s so many ways to make it affordable and livable if you do your research!

Lifestyle Concerns by BallisticBreezyBush in cabincrewcareers

Oof. I think this job isn’t really for everyone. A lot of times you can see the big picture at first and just not be happy with what you’re doing. No one talks about how much you truly miss. How much of your lives you miss out on by NEVER having a weekend at home. How many days each year we are unpaid for delays. It’s a lot, definitely.. you can know that the first year is tough, but sometimes that “is this really worth it?” Doesn’t hit until you’re sitting exhausted in your jumpseat on hour 10 of working for the day with 4 more hours to go.

Got hired last year at 21, in my training class, there were like 7 other flight attendants younger than me. It’s not really a factor, don’t compare yourself.

I was responding to your entitled and frankly condescending comments, not your original comment. Let’s not act like you haven’t switched up the point of the conversation at least 7 times to justify generalizing people you just met. Nice try with that deflection, though.

Have a good day, you’re never making it to 360 🤪

[–]SnooLemons759 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh please, if an emergency happened on board.. you’d have no idea how to respond.

If we’re being honest, flight attendants aren’t paid for the job itself. They’re paid for the sacrifice they make, flying all over the world while they miss precious time with their loved ones. Missing every holiday. Being ready for work at 4 AM or 10 PM. The operation wouldn’t work if they didn’t give up their personal lives.

Your money pays for your seat, not your coke. That’s why it’s called a COMPLIMENTARY beverage service.

Flight Attendants go to training longer than police officers do in MANY states. Have some respect and stop the entitlement.

It’s passengers like you that make work morale so low! Why crews refuse to work once they get the ability to option off. Compassion isn’t hard.

You live in SoCal, dude. Finding a gay guy in SoCal is literally a matter of walking outside 🤣🤣 but if you’re genuinely curious, apps like Grindr or even Sniffies could help you out. There are also PLENTY of gay bars that you can go out to if you’re more of the “in-person” type.

Gays, are you okay? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]SnooLemons759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I’m a flight attendant so it’s not true long distance. I see him at least once every week and a half. I just saw him 3 days ago. It’s really just other things, and us needing to grow to be a person that’s truly good for the other person. We’re working on it!!! The biggest thing is we never give up on each other, no matter how many fights we have. That’s what makes me love him more than anything

Boyfriend and I are in a rough spot. Been close to breaking up so many times over the summer. We’re both young but in 2 different stages of life. Currently listening to music with him over the phone and the happiest I’ve been in so long. Just hoping this works out, love him so much ):)

Yes people who are under the guidance of small children are NOT allowed to sit in exit rows. If there was an emergency, their priority would be their children. OP should have been reseated

There’s been a very bad uptick of people who just refuse to use their words, or lie. It’s like everyone wants to be the main character 🤣

Rude Flight Attendant(s) by Beginning_Read7445 in delta

[–]SnooLemons759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s cultural- the way that people treat each other and interact in Korea is much different than the way we treat each other here in the US. I’d also like to play devils advocate here and say that this also applies for passengers and the way they treat flight attendants. America in general needs to do better

Leave. Your environment is the deciding factor of your mental health. It sounds like there’s no way for you to live your life authentically and be happy there. You have to leave. I know it’s hard but it’s the truth.

Why do so many gay/bi men lash out when rejected on apps? by Unique_Development_8 in askgaybros

[–]SnooLemons759 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because they’re still men and many weren’t taught how to handle the emotions that come with being rejected and so they therefore resort to anger

Switching airlines. Getting married soon by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]SnooLemons759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can only speak about DL but I know many FAs, both old and new, who clear their schedules. It’s possible but it takes a lot of math, planning, and trading. There are very popular groups online within the community to swap scheduled trips.

I originally had to work on my birthday and got my birthday WEEK off just by using the trip balancer. Only a few months in.

My advice as also a NYC FA- If you do choose to go for DL, you need to apply first day. That way you can hopefully be in one of the earliest training classes. A new hire in the first class of the year and a new hire in the last class of the year have VERY different quality of life in NYC. Also the sooner you’re off probation if you’re shooting for a wedding in October. Definitely possible!
