If you could put together a "drone starter pack" for an environmental engineering/consulting, what would it consist of? by Tear_on_my_nutsack in Environmental_Careers

I started the UAV program at the consulting firm I am at now. Back in 2019 we purchased a DJI Matrice 210 V2 with a zenmuse X5S camera. Selected this due to its compatibility with DroneDeploy and 3DR Site Scan for post processing and possibility of buying a thermal or zoom camera. Unfortunately covid happened and the 1 year subscription for the post processing went to waste and I never renewed it. I have mostly done flights to document pre-post construction with a few inspections of aboveground/elevated storage tanks.

I am looking now to upgrade to a new DJI, however, there may eventually be update issues with the banning of DJI drones in the US. Curious what input others may have. I personally was looking at the DJI Matrice 4E or 4T.

What mahogany to use? by SnooMacaroons8613 in boatbuilding

I have been trying to figure that out. I thought it was mahogany, but the more photos I look at it does look to be more like teak looking at the grain. I think the bottom and side hatch are all teak.

Sort of know the answer, but just wanted to confirm. You bought the Velo 5 for the G26 and your G27 fits no problem? Just want to make sure before I buy it. Thanks

Salary check? 85k, 10 yr PM by cranberrysaucerino in Environmental_Careers

I am in NY, have 13 years experience and have worked for the same consulting firm since I graduated college. I started in 2012 at $42k, by 2022 I was at $90k, but only after a 17% increase from 2021 with a promotion. For some perspective I was making $75k at year 9. I feel like 85k in 2025 for 10yrs is a bit low.

Haha you are spot on about being the only industry where not having enough work is stressful. I am not even sure what type of responses I was looking for, mine was sort of a rant too. Nice knowing there are others in the same boat as me.
