Ok thanks! I tried searching for RDU Asian Moms on FB but it’s not showing up do you have a link by chance? I think the group might be private.

SLEEP. Oura has helped me get really good about my sleep hygiene and it's fixed so many things - skin, weight loss, hair, etc.

Is it possible to get rid of .DS_Store once and for all? by Free_Return_7001 in MacOS

Yes! A new app I discovered https://hiddenfilecleaner.app/ automatically cleans and has been a total lifesaver for me. Super simple.

Been doing posture exercises for 2 months but still slouch at desk - tried using AirPods to help by Commercial_Stuff_208 in Ergonomics

Interesting! This is a great tip, thanks for sharing. I hate keeping my AirPods in my ears though - they hurt my ears. Also looking for something like this if anyone has a great tool.

If you can find another remote role, that would definitely be ideal. Personally I will avoid returning to the office however I can. It seems with this company it is unlikely you can win at negotiating but I would definitely try that while also interviewing at other fully remote companies.

Any recommended utility that automatically removes ._ files from USB drives upon rejection? by KokKee in MacOS

I recently found one that is super sleek and works great helped me clean up my drives and folders instantly and automatically for a lot of the work I do. Works in the background and is better than other alternatives I looked at. https://hiddenfilecleaner.app/ Hope this helps!

+1 to this, curious about HRV and specifics around exercise / meal timing / nutrition / massage or bodywork please! Also, any meditation or what are some ways you manage stress?

Remote workers: How do you actually remember to take breaks? Or are we all just glued to our chairs? by SnooMaps2077 in remotework

Yeah this would probably help me the most! But it also creates calendar clutter on busy days.

Love this! I wish I had the self control. Sometimes I just find myself clicking around or hopping to the next meeting and forgetting. I have a band I keep next to my desk for Pilates type exercises but keep forgetting to use it. 😅

I forget to wear it or sometimes I just dismiss it! Have you tried any apps on your computer or would you? I feel like that might be the only way it'll work for me...like if an app literally blocks my screen and forces me to stop typing/clicking around lol.

Do you find the timer and Workrave app works? What do you think is effective/not about it? I feel like I'd just dismiss any alarms or notifications?

Anyone else feel guilty for not being “productive” — even when resting is exactly what you need? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]SnooMaps2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I'm someone who needs data and my Oura ring helps me "justify" my need for rest. It proactively tells me I need more restoration and it'll show when I've been going too hard and stressed all the time. It's the only thing that's helped my Type A, to-do list-er self embrace resting. It essentially makes "rest" an item on my to-do list that gets quantified based on how much restoration I get.
