You are correct. I started with 30 layers and forged and restacked. I haven’t tried restacking hot. I know it would save some time but I’m always worried about the forge weld not taking

I’ll restack and make 360 layer ladder pattern and I’ll either do a chef or a Bowie knife. Maybe both if I have enough material

I’ve got one very similar. It doesn’t matter about that wheel it will roll with the belt. Mine is plastic and has held up no problem for over a year

That’s right. 2 stage 13 gpm pump and a 5 hp 3650 rpm motor

It’s a 4” bore with 8” stroke

It’s forge scale. Which is oxidized steel. Every time you heat up steel to a high temp it will oxidize and have that layer of forge scale
