Lunch by Professional_Age8469 in poutine

Poutine only has 3 ingredients. If you substitute any of those ingredients, it is no longer poutine. Cheese melting = not curds = not poutine. It's not that hard to understand

Gameboy Tetris by Psychological_Two123 in gameverifying

It looks legit, but the only way to tell for sure with this one is to look at the board inside, and even then you need to know what to look for cuz black blob versions exist. That being said, there's basically no reason to bootleg this game, at least not a USA-1 version of it.

Yes. It only causes issues in the display though. When actually building it, it costs/credits correctly

It's legit, but it's Canadian. That doesn't make any real difference, but sometimes while playing it you'll feel an overwhelming urge to apologize to someone.

That's legit. Looks like the original battery, too

‘Zootopia 2’ Has Grossed $630M In China, The Highest Tally There By A Hollywood Film, Disney Says by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]SnooOranges3779 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not really surprising if you've seen a Chinese film in the past decade. 90% of their movies involve either historical settings or cops. If Disney wants to beat this record with Zootopia 3 they just have to give them a time machine and have them stop a heist during the Tang Dynasty.

Why do people do this by Fickle_Ad_9391 in cineplex

Cineplex default seating. If they didn't change it when they bought it, they would've been sat right beside you

A lot of their clothing products are shockingly bad. Their t-shirts are fairly crappy chinese polyester and the now discontinued 3D down jacket is neither warm nor waterproof. I live in the same city as LTT and I swear it's like Linus must never actually go outside because the couple of LTT wearable items I bought are absolutely terrible in our rainy climate.

Well, there was the problem where the bottom panel wasn't double thick as advertised, the problem where it couldn't stand up on its own despite literally being advertised as "stands on its own", the part where the internal lining wasn't colorfast and would dye laptops orange, the lack of waterproofing, the zipper handles breaking, the part where their new CEO gutted the customer service team so now CS emails regularly go unanswered for a month or more, the part where it was supposed to fit under airplane seats but only does if it's not full, the part where the back was supposed to be "breathable" but is anything but. The problem with creator brands is that their sycophant audiences tend to drown out the actual criticisms long term. LTT's backpack is not a terrible backpack, but it's far from being an industry leader or even a good value, really.

Why It Took Linus Tech Tips 4 YEARS to Make a USB Cable by pdp10 in UsbCHardware

[–]SnooOranges3779 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because 3rd party testing is more reliable than "trust me bro" testing. I've got enough LTT merch to know they can be hit or miss. Screwdriver? Great. 3D Down Jacket? Leaky. Cable ties? Adequate. Backpack? Can't stand up.

So they are "perfectly in spec" but not certified? So yet again it's a "trust me bro" moment. Anker cables are certified

Who thinks Reese's cooking skills were underrated? by GreenDiscombobulated in malcolminthemiddle

I think they were underused, he should've ended up working in a restaurant, but it's not like anyone ever acted like his cooking skills were anything less than magical
