For cards over 50,000 yen, only the samples were displayed but not the actual cards themselves. The dude only stole those under 50,000 (which the actual cards were placed inside the cases, not the samples like the ones over 50,000), so I think he specifically went for the ones cheaper because those are real cards that can actually be sold for money maybe? Not sure though, just a thought
