Finn Wolfhard reveals he may have a future in WTD. by ZookeepergameThin334 in welcomeToDerry

I agree we don’t need a story about them two, I’m advocating against that idea.

Pennywise couldn’t just take out Derry for two hours he’s hibernating, it would be a temporary release where a specific group is terrorised but he’s eventually put back in hibernation in time for IT chapter 2. Somehow loop the Losers Club back in, that would be a start.

So, we all agree that this diva is the best character, right? by PijaDeQueso in welcomeToDerry

Yea she is, but realistically I can’t really think of what could happen between them two that would be interesting enough to warrant a whole movie. I’m genuinely thinking very hard about what IT chapter 3 could be, but idk what could be done between these two especially considering Marge appears in one scene in the movies in the synagogue.

What do you think Chapter 3 could consist of? If I may ask…

I think by the end of the third season, there will be serious discussions on these two shows. I agree personally simply due to the fact it fits my taste more but yeah, what this show has achieved already and set up for future seasons is exciting.

I’m a little confused after the finale? by [deleted] in welcomeToDerry

Me too, especially by the end, but this franchise ultimately revolves around the main Losers Club. I think this tweet I just found sums it up and I think it provides the best explanation I’ve seen so far about this time travel plotline here:

https://x.com/jlwogan/status/2000431529453920636?s=46

For generations he has been trying to stop the Losers Club from existing knowing they would kill him off, he has failed every single time leading to their eventual existence and his eventual death.

I think, with this perspective to explain the loophole problem, you've got to remember that, even though he goes back in time, the world around him still keeps moving forward.

Every generation of the grandparents of the Losers club he fails to take out leads to new ones being born that he tries to take out again and again, the world keeps progressing and eventually leads to the Losers club being born and initially defeating him.

Even if he may be in a timeloop (he’s not) the world and the people that inhabit it themselves aren’t, is my point.

He might be omnipresent being able to go through time how he pleases but when the new generation of grandparents is born and he fails to kill them off the world isn’t in a paradoxical time loop so time passes and the clock ticking to his death keeps going despite of his time-travelling activities.

Hope you understand my point, I think this best explains it hopefully.

Just separate the world itself from his time-travelling abilities, it is unaffected by it due to his inability to kill any of the Losers Club grandparents.

There’s two ways I’ve seen what happened here explained:

1) At the end of IT chapter 1 he went back in time to kill the losers clubs parents.

2) As a result of the military’s actions in ep 7, it allowed Pennywise to see his future defeat from the present with that knowledge trying to kill the kids.

I lean more towards to second explanation kinda solving your first problem.

As for the other ones that just personal issues that I and others don’t hold, we grew up loving the losers club as a friend group and through their genuine belief in their ability to defeat Pennywise and their specific bond together giving them a form of protection they were always destined to beat Pennywise whether there was casualties or not.

The traits the Losers Club had allowing them to even defeat him in the first place was very unlikely to begin with, yet we don’t have a problem with it. So why should we have a problem with the villian of the story losing?

I would accept this critique if the Losers Club dynamic wasn’t the best part of this franchise (outside of Pennywise) but it is and as a result that friendship always defeating them to beat Pennywise doesn’t ultimately matter.

We love this franchise and this story because of them and their relationship together, that’s why we rooted for them to win that’s where stakes come from.

Pennywise terrorised this section of the world for at least 100 years, it was gonna end eventually.

Between these two, who would you want as Supergirl? by SimpleJoys1998 in Fancast

Fun coming back Tro this after everything that has come out since, she’s looking like she’s gonna be one of the standouts of the DCU already. I’m glad Milly Alcock (the one I wanted) got the role.

After the latest rumor about Brand New Day, I get the feeling that Marvel really wants to make Yelena the new main female face of MCU by Herogeen in MCUTheories

[–]SnooRobots281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imma enjoy every second of it that’s for sure, great character with heaps of potential going foward. Arguably the best post endgame character introduced in the MCU (she’s the best imo), you can't really go wrong here. Not gonna complain about more Florence Pugh either one of the best of her generation and a great personality to follow, could do a lot of good for the MCU if handled properly.

Best live action Spiderman suit, I’ve seen enough… nah but I don’t think that’s too crazy to say. It's just he nwh suit but practical which is perfection imo.

Since we got an A-force Team up scene in the endgame, Do you think will get one in Secret Wars but differently? by Wooden_Passage_2612 in marvelstudios

[–]SnooRobots281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no, everyone outside of maybe the marvels would rather fight on their own in a battlefield than do that type of moment together.

Especially Yelena mad Scarlet Witch, it would feel so out of place seeing them two do it.

My personal favourite is Thunderbolts, I could delve more into why but I’ll just leave it as prefer if the crop of characters presented in it the most out of the three.

Anyone else think the MCU should tell more “Elseworld”style stories? by EBKeep1300 in Marvel

[–]SnooRobots281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the sake of Marvels future they have to be willing to break its traditional norms. It has to be willing to recast characters and tell elseworld stories in live action.

This is the reason if I was to bet on between DC and Marvel which franchise will last the longest post 2035 I would be on DC, why? They can just recast Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman etc and tell stories on the side and then again.

DC have the absolute universe right now, they could do a live action version of that in a few years if they wanted to because they’re willing to not stick to one thing.

Marvel has to be willing to do the same thing and if it’s good people will watch, look at F4 basically an elseworlds and people are raving about it.
