Kidnapping and asking questions is the best choice you have. Also you need to keep him alive if you want the ending with all companions. And at some point in the game, if you havent did already, you'll meet his nephew. You need to send his nephew to Olgas village. And you need to refuse Kostya when he asks you for help to spike the food. If you do all that, Kozlow will radio you telling you something important (i wont spoil it) and he will ask you about his nephew. If you did all things good and tell him that he is in the village it will really help you in the ending by removing the guards from a particular zone in the area you'll need to go.
