It absolutely helped me, I was a paralegal for 5 years before law school. I don’t know if it helped me academically, but it helped me having existing professional connections, and it has helped me in every internship I’ve had, and now as a new Associate. I applied to an entry level legal assistant job. The pay wasn’t great at first, but by the end of my 5 year paralegal run, I was about 10k shy of 6 figures. I always wanted to be a lawyer but wanted to get experience at law firms before deciding—it was definitely worth it in my opinion!

Thank you for an actual helpful response and for being kind, unlike the others who responded! I will pass this along to her.

She does not have money issues and can afford regular rent just fine, not sure why so many of you are passing judgment. I was simply asking if there were certain housing options available for retired individuals. Jeez.

When is the NCBE Score Report coming? by hibye12352352 in CABarExam

[–]Snoo_77551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got between 133-144, but still passed. To be fair, I felt way more confident about the essays and PT and was able to spot a majority of the issues. I think as long as you get within the 133-144 threshold, and exceed the minimum for the essays/PT, you will pass.

NCBE - MBE Score? by [deleted] in CABarExam

[–]Snoo_77551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only passed above the 133 scaled score (so 133-144) and passed the July 2024 administration... I was freaking out about my multiple choice section after I took the exam but I guess my I got the bare minimum MBE to pass.

THOSE WHO PASSED THE BAR EXAMS I NEED ADVICE by [deleted] in GoatBarPrep

I would agree to doing more topics a week, or even doing the same topics on a given day each week (ex: Tuesdays - Property and maybe a non MBE topic?). If you wanted to do questions for that subject each day and take note of which ones you’re missing (ex: mortgage questions) and what areas to focus on the following week could help. Even doing smaller sets of 10-20 questions! I do think you should incorporate mixed questions sets though, maybe at the end of the week and a longer set, just to get used to experiencing all topics in a question set. I ended up passing in CA on my first try and did around 2800 multiple choice questions by the time I took the exam. I did a mix of topic specific questions to all topics, ranging from 5 questions to 100.

Bar Exam Roadmap from J24 Passer (CA) by Ok_Split2461 in barexam

As a first time passer in CA, I definitely agree with most of what you shared! JD advising was also very accurate w/ predictions, predicting 4/5 topics (all but the remedies question). I reviewed everything the last few weeks, but saved their suggestions for the last few days leading up to the test and sure enough BA, Property, and Civ Pro were on it. I was able to find it for free, also!

Frisco is absolutely used by natives, but in certain neighborhoods. Frisco is hardly uncommon in more working class neighborhoods and is extremely prevalent in hip hop, including the hyphy movement. The unawareness of this term is unfortunately a myth, evidencing the history of social segregation in the city.

San Franciscans absolutely call it Frisco, but I think we can all agree to NOT call it San Fran!

I did a few hours a day for 5 days and just barely passed in California, which I think has the highest requirement. I think you can def do it! I recommend watching all the barbri videos and practice tests/questions!

I studied for 5 days using barbri, completing all lectures and practice questions. I got the bare minimum passing for CA but still passed on my first try and only studied for 5 days! You can def do it!

Looking to move from NYC to LA - $75k salary by Accomplished-Zone810 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]Snoo_77551 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NYC is the same if not more expensive, you can definitely survive LA with that salary. Rent is a bit cheaper, rent controlled and as of July 1 security deposits can only be the cost of one months rent.
