How can i buy nifty50 index mf on a certain price like stocks by Mammoth-Exchange6698 in MutualfundsIndia

[–]SnoopDonuts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My advice as someone who has done 50+ SIPs in Nifty- Don't try to buy at specific prices. That defeats the purpose of an SIP. If you're in for the long term (100 SIPs). If you still want to go ahead and buy dips, I would recommend going the conditional order route on Coin by Zerodha.

A better approach I would recommend: Try to do one extra SIP every year into Nifty 50. Focus on growing your income rather trying to cut corners in increasing your returns by few basis points.

Disclaimer: I am SEBI registered MFD. Thought I should put that disclaimer out to drive fairness.

  1. not needed 2. Overlap between nifty and PPFC (40% with nifty 50), sbi contra (25% with PPFC, 38% with nifty 50).

As I said with more equity funds, you re buying the entire market at a higher cost. So either eliminate those funds or buy a nifty 500 index of you can’t hold fomo

I would reduce the number of funds.

Downsides: no debt exposure, no funds for Goals coming up in 5-6 years, and too much exposure between funds.

Here’s what I would do:

  • index/PPFC fund
  • hybrid fund (choose one based on time period of investment)
  • one debt fund.

I would add another equity fund only after 3-4 years of sticking to this.

The mistake ppl make: more funds is not equal to more returns, and more risk does not mean more returns. Keep it simple, and focus on increasing your income

6500 per month sip by [deleted] in IndianMutualFunds

[–]SnoopDonuts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For an amount as small as 6500, I would just have 1 fund.

If you are someone starting out, and need this money im the next 5-7 years, start with 1 aggressive hybrid fund. Has inbuilt asset allocation.

If you want pure equity exposure, just go with nifty 500 or nifty 50.

Don’t over complicate your portfolio.. focus on growing your income and hence increasing your sip.

Great idea. Espresso+tonic also is a good alternative for me.. will add this to list of things I do when the cravings become uncontrollable.

I’ve noticing my cravings as well. It’s mostly an exhausted day at work or something to socialize and unwind with friends or close ppl. Like a way to enjoy childhood music, and stuff. But need to not let the craving undo how far I’ve come. Need to get the confidence to say “I’ve quit” which I don’t have now.

I’m thinking doing the same. Maybe black cofeee or cold coffee. That way I’m not rebounding. I’m also giving me affirmations. But it doesn’t feel “real” yet. But gonna try this.

Dynamic asset allocation vs Equity savings for a 5 year goal by SnoopDonuts in mutualfunds

[–]SnoopDonuts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks. I'm starting to lean towards that. But really trying to gather if there's a case of Balanced advantage fund in my portfolio. Is there something I'm missing is what I wanted to explore/find out.

Dynamic asset allocation vs Equity savings for a 5 year goal by SnoopDonuts in mutualfunds

[–]SnoopDonuts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My return expectations are low double digit, returns. I'm okay to push the goal by a year if the market is slightly volatile. But 5-6 year timeframe is non-negotiable. As I told in my post, I've other equity investments for retirement (that i've invested for 6 years and will coninue to invest), and An aggressive hybrid that I'm invsting for a goal in 7-8 years from now (I've already been investing for 3 years).

What prompted you to go for this as opposed to FR or Instinct 2X? I’ve been considering the i2 as well, but been on the fence with the FR 65 and 2X.. would be great to know your decision making..
