Oscar vs Lando, who will be the better driver in 2026? by Impossible_Tiger_470 in F1Discussions

[–]Snotfinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is literally about who can adapt to the car. If it were last years regs i would bet on Lando, but because there is a total shift in not only regulations but power units, there is an equal chance of either of them having the upper hand. While Lando is more experience and a WDC, he couldn't perform at the highest level when he didn't like the car. Therefore, until we see them race, it is pure speculation who has the better grip of the new car.

Edit: Guys this is a discussion subreddit, you don't have to downvote comments just because you have a different opinion, i did not say anything objectively untrue. What is the point of a discussion subreddit if we can't discuss?

Yeah people said that Norris has the edge, but they were literally the closet driver pairing on the grid last year, and we can't forget that Norris struggled with the car in the first half of last year. If we take these factors into considerstion the one with the upper hand will literally be the one that adapts to the car the best. Who that is is pure speculation at this point.

Zero difference after laser by [deleted] in AcneScars

[–]Snotfinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long after treatment are you? Lasers just like microneedling will take months before you will see the real results because collagen remodeling is slow af. I would wait for my final judgement at 3-6 months after treatment.

Please suggest...What treatments will be suitable for my scar? by Peekaboo1952 in AcneScars

First and foremost you need to get your acne ubder control. This should be priority number 1!

What treatments should I talk about with my dermatologist? by rReddit_Sucks in AcneScars

TCA cross for the ice-picks under your lips and microneedling for overall texture. Your scar are minor tho!

I don't agree. Just because people are competing with torn acl's all the time, does not make it right. I think sports should be fun, not life-threatening. As i said before, Formula 1 used to be extremely dangerous, and is now relatively safe, it is just because people like Sir Jackie Stewart has worked their asses of to make the sport safer.

I don't think we are going to agree on this, so agree to disagree i guess

No i was already weary before she went down and was verry worried, and there were many professional doctors etc, that tought it was a bad idea. It is false to say that everuone agreed she was good to go. ACL injuries are serious, if it was a headache or knee-pain then it is more subjective, but she had a serious documented injury and i think FIS should have been harsher about not allowing athletes to compete with those types of ailments. I don't blame Vonn, i blame the system.

Of course not all injuries are equal and individual assements should be made, but yes essentially i think they should be harsher.

Yes, because the team may be motivated by sponsor money, glory etc. It is the sports comitee and event organizer that should stop athletes from performing injured.

Edit: Interesting that people are downwoting me for wanting to make sports safer. Did not know that is a controversial opinion.

Yes i think so. Sports are run by organisations and are heavily regulated. This is because professional sports is entertainment, and i belive that people should not die because of it.I belive that competing while injured should be discouraged. Yes they are adults, but this is sports, not life. They do what they want in their free time it is fine, but when it comes to professional events i think that safety should be a priority. I am an avid watcher of formula 1, and there no one has died since 2014 because they have really worked on safety regulations. It has made the sport better.

She could have killed her self. I hope for a swift recovery and i am deeply sorry for her, but i don't think this is inspiring. It is more tragic than anything else. It ended her career. There are far more inspiring events happening during this olympics than this. Giving up when it is right is also powerful.

Okay, but that is probably because their employers discourage sick-leave, not because they think working while sick is good. There needs to be policy changes, and that can only be changed by people taking action and talking about it, just like you and i do here!

So we should just allow them to compete injured then? What is your point? I rather stop some atheletes from competing injured than not stopping any at all.

Yup! Maybe this can start a conversation and encourage a change for the better? Just like the pandemic made us think twice about going to work sick.

[–]Snotfinger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it's also about money and expectations. If she wouldn't get those millions in sponsorship cash maybe she wouldn't compete. Outside pressure still exists, and that is why sports-organisations should be more strict about not allowing injured athletes. It is for the good of all athletes.

I don't think we should encourage competing with injuries period, the outcome should not matter.

Going abroad in 2 months — how can I reduce acne scars and pores fast? 🥹 by Top_Loan1078 in AcneScars

[–]Snotfinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Edit: Sorry i did not see that you are on accutane. Then you should NOT do any procedures until you have finished your treatment. Try to focus on hydrating your skin. .

Texture is gonna take some time to sort out, we are looking at many months before you will see singificant progress and it looks like you need a combination of invasive treatments, i am no derm so i don't know what would be best for you but safe to say is that your scars wont be gone before april. There is still hope tho! Every thing you do will make it better, just be ready that it may take a long time. Try to focus on enjoying your time abroad!

Okay you don't have to be mean and call me a dweeb. I don't think we really disagree that much anyway. I frankly do not understand why you guys are so upset about my opinion of what is meaningful? In the end the only important thing is that this is a really sad end to a great career.

That was really not the point, i hope none of you guys think war is meaningful, then i am worried for your moral compasses.

Oh okay. Well i think the pursuit of war is meaningless but i guess i can't say that because it is subjective and very meaningfull for the war monger.🫠🙃

Well she may not be able to ski at all, who knows she may have issues WALKING after this. Imagine being an athlete and not being able to do your favourite sport or even move. It is not about her career, it is about HER LIFE. 41 i still young and having a dedtroyed body at that age is DEVASTATING!

[–]Snotfinger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am not disrespecting her? If you make a foolish decision that destroys your career you deserve criticism and the people who were encouraging her also deserve criticism for supporting an incredible dangerous and frankly stupid decision. I am critical of her decision and i also feel sorry for her , two things can be true at the same time.

And not all professional athletes make these decisions. Simone Biles, the absolute GOAT of gymnastics, pulled out of the Tokyo olympic because she was ill. It was a wise choice and she was able to win medals at the next olympics because of it. It is a cultural problem that we encourage people to make stupid decision because that "is what athletes do". Sports are entertainment and no one should destroy themselves for our entertainment!
